Flint Green and Healthy Homes Initiative was included in the economic playbook presented to Governor Snyder. Project Description: The Green and Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI) is a public-private partnership between the federal government, national and local philanthropy, and the National Coalition to End Childhood Lead Poisoning in 14 initial pilot cities. The priority is to transform unsafe and dilapidated housing not only by effectively integrating and coordinating several inter-related programs, but also by leverage investments of federal, local, and philanthropic resources. The Flint GHHI has over 40 local private, public, and nonprofit partners that are committed to meeting and working towards a common purpose.

BASELINE CRITERIA FOR A GREENAND HEALTHY INTERVENTION

1. A comprehensive assessment covering health, safety and

weatherization/energy efficiency; and2. No major structural defects (e.g. extensive roof damage, significant water infiltration in basement, extensive

electrical or water pipes problems, collapsing structures, etc.); and

3. No known life threatening health and safety hazards (e.g. exposed wiring, gas leaks); and

4. Smoke and carbon monoxide (when unit has combustion appliances or is connected to a garage) detectors

present; and5. At least one activity that is a physical

intervention in the health and safety category of the

Baseline Criteria document, and at least one activity that is a physical intervention in the energyefficiency and weatherization category.
