The purpose of this banquet is twofold,

as we first want to take time to

celebrate the senior class in the

student ministry. We take time to

celebrate their service to New Hope

and their accomplishments

academically. We also pray for their

future as they pursue living Kingdom-

focused lives. The second purpose of

this banquet is to raise financial

support for the two summer mission

trips, through our silent auction, as

this is our only student fundraiser.

International Student

Outreach

Attention all Life Groups! This

ministry is growing strong and

we would like to suggest that

your Life Group host a meal for

some of the International

Students! We have had great

conversations and fun evenings

each time NHCC has hosted

meals and have always learned

so much about our guest’s

homeland. Dave and Donna

Linn do a wonderful job of

instructing all of us in the best

way to interact with someone

from a foreign country. The

students are so appreciative of

spending time with American

families in their homes.

Everyone learns and grows!

Please prayerfully consider

being a part of our next

opportunity Saturday, April 27.

A Note from Melinda Dimiceli & Liz Dale

Vacation Bible School

New Hope Christian

Church is where children will learn to

“Stand Strong For God” during our VBS, June 10-14. The theme for

the week is: Kingdom Rock, “...be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your

stand against the devil’s schemes.” Ephesians 6:10-11.

Every morning from 8:30am-11:45am, children will have

incredible Bible experiences through drama, crafts and cool Bible songs. On-line registration will open April 1

and paper registration will begin April 7 at the Welcome Center. Go to www.newhopecc.net under the Children’s Ministry tab to register or pick up a registration form at

the Welcome Center to fill out and leave in the basket.

If you are interested in volunteering during the week,

please stop by the Welcome Center NOW to fill out a Volunteer Sheet. We are hoping to have over 300

children so many volunteers are needed! Even if you can only help a part of the week, we can use you! If you have any questions, please contact Melinda Dimiceli at

317.769.3525 or Liz Dale in the church office.

The mission for the week will be Jeannie Hoffman with

the Philippine Mission Churches of Christ. We are very

excited that Ms. Hoffman will be with us the entire week!

And of course, please be in prayer for the week of VBS,

the group leaders, the many volunteers and for all the

children that attend to know God’s love and grace here.

Community Outreach

Feeding Our Future’s Second Annual “Be a Hero, Fight Childhood Hunger”

Day will be Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the Witham Health Services Pavilion, Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds. Through poverty simulations,

informative and motivating workshops, and speakers who will share with us their ideas and concerns about childhood hunger in Boone County, you will learn first-hand some of the issues surrounding this problem and

what you, as a community, can do to help. The day will begin at 10am, we’ll have a “Taste of Boone County” Food Sampling at 2pm followed at

4pm with our keynote speaker, Julia Moffitt, of WTHR Channel 13. She will be followed by several engaging speakers and workshops to provide you with the resources needed to make a difference in our community and heighten our awareness of the scope of childhood hunger

in Boone County. For example, did you know that the 2011 Feeding America statistic estimates that the number of food insecure children in our county is around 2500? For more

information-please go to: www.thecaringcenter.net

“Fresh Brewed Life” is the title of this year’s

Women’s Conference at Lincoln Christian

University. This year’s conference features the

messages of two women of faith...the most

sought after Christian communicator in

America today, Nicole Johnson and speaker,

musician and author, Dr. Dinelle Frankland.

Wednesday, April 24, 8am—4pm. You can

register online at www.lincolnchristian.edu or

by phone at #217-732-3168 ext. 2215.

Several have expressed interest in going;

please call Kyle Kincaid in church office if you

have questions or would like to carpool.

The next New Hope Helper meeting will be on

Sunday, April 14th, after the 2nd service. We

ask that you bring a light snack or finger food

to share. We will have a time of fellowship

after we have our meeting. All are welcome!

Mother/Daughter Banquet—is Monday,

May 13 at 6:30pm right here at New Hope and

you are invited! It will be a pitch-in so please

bring a salad and dessert to share. This is for

mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, nieces,

grandmothers, great-grandmothers...! We

look forward to sharing in a wonderful evening

of fellowship with all of you!

If you don’t think you can commit to yet

another thing but still would like to serve, the

New Hope Helpers can use you! We need

people to help us on the day we serve the

church through a meal. If you would be able

to help set up for the meal, prepare the meal

or help clean up afterwards, please sign up on

the sheet at the Kitchen. We will contact you

before the event to see if you are available to

help. If you can, great! If not, then we’ll ask

another time.

Have you remembered your

Secret Sister in prayer or with a

card or small gift lately?

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on the unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
