#APSummit
Greetings,
It’s remarkable to think that our 6th annual Academic Partner Summit is almost here! We’ve been working hard preparing for your arrival and are looking forward to seeing you next week in Amelia Island, Florida.
Much of this year’s Summit will focus on higher education evolving over the coming years as a result of more flexible learning opportunities. While we’re excited to share the progress made in online learning, we’ll look ahead at how to successfully manage online programs and what students will expect in the future from their online learning experience.
As a highlight this year, I’m especially looking forward to hearing our student panel discuss the impact of online learning in each of their lives. I’m always impressed by our online learners’ dedication to their professional and personal goals and am certain you will find this inspiring, too.
We’ve constructed an agenda for this year’s Summit that we think represents the constantly evolving online learning industry. Attendees will participate in three separate tracks: Prepare, Engage, and Learn. In the Prepare track, you’ll attend sessions that revolve around the theme of market dynamics and the changing landscape of online learning. Then, and new for this year, is the Engage track where you’ll brainstorm and exchange ideas with your peers based on your own experiences and what was shared in the Prepare sessions. To conclude, the Learn track takes a step back and discusses several topics to help us stay on top of the ever-important evolution of education and students.
Like last year, our event will run parallel to Pearson’s annual online learning conference, Cite. As we did last year, we will ‘cross-over’ to Cite to take advantage of two larger keynote sessions that we have planned together.
As always, we’re proud to partner with you and look forward to connecting soon. I wish you safe travels and thank you once again for joining us at the 2016 AP Summit.

At the heart of innovation is the introduction of something new that adds value. These new ideas help you see a vision for the future, achieve simplicity for a complex task, arrive at a consensus to end a conflict, or generate new revenue in times of budget cuts. Chic Thompson will take you on an interactive journey through the steps of strategic curiosity that will foster a mindset of innovation.

The demise of the traditional residential college campus is a popular refrain these days. What will the college of the future look like: how will students learn, what role will technology play, and what are the risks and opportunities for traditional campuses. In the face of predictions that thousands of colleges will close in the coming decade, how can traditional and residential campuses prove their value in a marketplace where students will have many more options.

Reinventing the Role of Marketing in Higher Education[Talbot AB]
Matt Celano, Senior Vice President of Marketing Jon Niebch, Director, Marketing Services
Competition has skyrocketed in higher ed. Because of that, students must be more savvy in their university search. Students rely on search engines, advice from authorities, and social media to create their shortlist of institutions to consider.
We are expanding and deepening our partnerships with Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, matriculation agreements, and professional organizations to open up new enrollment sources. Our strategies are designed to connect with students—on their terms—in today’s mobile world. This session will focus on our efforts and how they are outperforming expectations.
