Warranty
Our bath products are guaranteed for a period of twelve months from the date of commissioning.
All parts are covered against defects that may arise as the result of faulty materials, inferior workmanshipor construction.
The baths are not covered for any problems that may arise from the installation or site planning unlesscarried out by engineers from Abacus Healthcare Services Ltd.
Any consequence arising from unskilled or incorrect handling of the product is not covered by thisguarantee.
The following items, when supplied by Abacus Healthcare Services Ltd are guaranteed for a periodof twelve months from the date of supply for the parts only (labour costs are not covered).
• Taps and mixers
• Shower hoses, shower heads and shower brackets.
• Flexible pipes including waste outlet, hot and cold supply.
Hot and cold taps and mixer taps are proprietary fittings and as such carry a standard manufacturer’swarranty.
Note: Thermostatic mixing valves must be adjusted for the appropriate discharge temperature bythe installer. These require regular maintenance for which Abacus engineers are available.
• Electrical
All electrical components fitted to Aquanova baths are CE marked to comply with current EuropeanStandards.
Electrical items must not be replaced with alternative components without the authorisation of AbacusHealthcare Services Ltd.
Failure to obtain such authorisation will exempt the Company from any liability to action for further failure.

Safety Instructions
Always ensure the equipment is operated by trained staff.
Regularly clean the bath using non-abrasive cleaners.
Always ensure the mains electricity is switched on.
Always have the equipment serviced regularly (see Service Level Agreement).
Always keep users hands away from moving parts.
Always ensure the shower head is returned to it’s holder when not in use.
Never use the bath for any purpose other than that it has been designed.
Never leave the bath with the platform in a raised position.
Never allow other equipment such as hoists to contact the bath forcibly as this may cause damage.
Never allow items such as the shower head to remain beneath platform when raising the bath.
Whirlpool use and safety
Ensure you have a minimum of 50mm of water above the highest jet before switching on your whirlpool.
Check, especially after the children have used the bath, that they have not pushed small toys or otherobjects into the jets or suction fitting.
Check regularly that all debris is cleared from around the suction fitting.
Switch off your whirlpool at the RCCB after use.
Ensure that adequate access is left for maintenance and servicing.
Do not switch on your whirlpool without any water in the bath since this will damage the whirlpool pump.
Do not use large amounts of standard bubble bath in the water since this will fill the room with soapbubbles.
Do not run unmixed hot water directly on to the suction fitting.
Do not let anything cover the suction fitting during use, especially you.
Do not try to put your finger in a jet whilst the whirlpool is working.
Do not leave children unattended in the bath with the whirlpool system switched on.
Do not wash your hair in a bath fitted with a whirlpool system when the system is working.
Do not wash animals in a bath fitted with a whirlpool system.
Do not modify your whirlpool in any way. This would result in the guarantee becoming invalid and couldresult in the system becoming dangerous.
Maintenance
After each use: Dissolve a sterilising tablet into the bath water prior to sending the water to waste.Clean the bath and fittings using a soft cloth and non abrasive cleaner with anti-bacterial agent.
Monthly: Whirlpool sanitisation using Abacus Healthcare approved cleaner.
Annually: Servicing by an approved company in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Operating Instructions
1. To close the pop up waste rotate the chrome turn handle clockwise until the wasteplug locates in the outlet (fig. 2).
2. Fill the bath with water to your required level.The platform may be tilted to observe the depthof water (fig. 3).
3. Check the temperature of the water.
4. Lower the bath rim to the level of the platform(fig. 4).There is an option to set the bath on installationto be used with a portable hoist in addition to theambulant, ceiling track hoist and wheel chairtransfer.
5. Allow/assist the bather to transfer onto theplatform (a bed type transfer for an ambulantbather) (fig. 5).

6. Raise the bath, full of water, around the platform and bather by pressing and holding the
icon (fig. 6).
7. When bathing is completed lower the bath full
of water to below the level of the platform by
pressing and holding the icon on the
membrane pad on the bath rim (fig. 7).
The platform may be used for drying/dressing
prior to transfer (or at anytime).
8. Assist to towel dry/dress the bather.
9.Allow/assist the bather to transfer off the platform (see transfers - fig. 5).
10. Empty the bath using the pop up waste turning handle.
11. Make the bath ready for the next bather (clean, disinfect etc).

Service Level Agreement
As the manufacturer of your bath we are able to offer a unique range of services, which, due to themodular construction of the bath will extend the working life of the bath and provide a cost effectivesolution to protect your investment by offering the prospect of upgrading your bath to the latestspecification.
Abacus Service Plans
There are three foundation plans, which can be added to or modified to personalise service cover to meetthe needs of the individual customer. All new equipment may take a four year contract from the warrantyexpiration date with a reduction in cost of ten percent.
Service contracts are established on an evergreen basis, renewed automatically to ensure thatmaintenance cover is always in place to comply with requirements. You will receive an invoice two monthsin advance of renewal date, notice to terminate the contract is required three months prior to a renewaldate.
Minimum CoverRecommended: Where the usage is relatively low and bathing facilities whilst important are notcritical on a daily basis.
Comprises:
• One full service visit each year which will include one LOLER weight test if appropriate.
• A further LOLER examination if appropriate at a six month interval from the service visit
• All labour costs for the pre planned service visit
• All consumable parts cost for the pre planned service visit
• All travel to and from site for service visit
• Discount of 10% on the list price of Engineer Call Out, Labour and Parts
• Supply of a Certificate of Maintenance
• Supply of LOLER Certificate where appropriate
• Priority response to Contract Customers
• Cover is available Monday – Friday 09:00 to 17:00 hours
Minimum Plus Labour CoverRecommended: Where the usage is regular and may be significant to the daily bathing process.
Comprises:
• One full service visit each year which will include one LOLER weight test if appropriate.
• A further LOLER examination if appropriate at a six month interval from the service visit
• All labour costs for the pre planned service visit
• All consumable parts cost for the pre planned service visit
• Unlimited breakdown cover for labour for service/repair visits
• All travel to and from site for service visit
• Discount of 10% on the list price of Engineer Call Out and Parts
• Supply of a Certificate of Maintenance
• Supply of LOLER Certificate where appropriate
• Priority response to Contract Customers
• Cover is available Monday – Friday 09:00 to 17:00 hours
Comprehensive CoverRecommended: Where the bath has regular multiple daily usage. Although it may not be the onlybathing facility its loss could compromise client or patient care.
Comprises:
• One full service visit each year which will include one LOLER weight test if appropriate.
• A further LOLER examination if appropriate at a six month interval from the service visit
• All labour costs for the pre planned service visit
• All consumable parts cost for the pre planned service visit
• Unlimited breakdown cover for labour for service/repair visits
• Unlimited breakdown cover for parts
• Engineer call out
• All travel to and from site for service visit
• Supply of a Certificate of Maintenance
• Supply of LOLER Certificate where appropriate
• Priority response to Contract Customers

Locking Devices
Platform Locking Device
1. The platform locking device is designed toconnect the platform to one stainless steelplatform support post during bathing. It willprevent the platform pivoting when the bath (if full of water) is raised.
2. Identify where the support post with ahorizontal groove is situated (fig. 8).
3. Place the locking device between the end ofthe bath and the support post you haveidentified.
4. Holding the locking device with the crankedend upwards (fig. 9), slide the device along theplatform with the length of the device below theplatform (fig. 10).
5. Continue to slide the locking device along theplatform until it engages with the groove on thesupport post (fig. 10).
6. Check the platform is locked and will not raisewhen the bath rises.
NOTE: Do not raise the platform to attach thelocking device.
Bath Locking Device
1. All Aquanova baths with a Membrane Keypadhave a lock sequence to prevent unauthoriseduse.
2. To lock the bath, press the two locking keyssimultaneously (fig. 11).
3. Check the lock sequence is set by trying tooperate the bath.
4. To unlock the bath, press the two locking keysagain simultaneously.
5. Check that the bath is operating by pressingthe icon.
