Family is defined as a maximum of 2 adults (18 +) and their immediate minor children.

Any support staff assisting a patron with a disability will be permitted into the facility at no charge.

All children under the age of 9 must be accompanied in the water by a responsible person aged 13 or older.

That person must stay within arms reach of that child at all times.

To swim in the deep end without a lifejacket or PFD, a lifeguard may ask you to perform a swim test which consists

of jumping into the water in the deepend and swimming 25 m t the shallow end without touching the edge or bottom.

*Please ask permission prior to taking photos in the facility. It is limited to taking photos of your own family

Youth Birthday Party Rentals The designated Pool Rental Times are:

Saturdays: 1:00 pm—2:00 pm & 4:00 pm -5:00 pm

Sundays: 11:00 am -12:00 pm & 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Pool Rental Rates for Youth Parties Party Room with Pool Rental $10.00/hr

Up to 35 guests $90.00/hr (Local) Party Room without Pool Rental $15.00/hr

(party is responsible for set up/take down and cleaning of room )

Additional Party Package Options

Set-up and Take Down of Party Room: Your choice of basic decorations and our OAC staff will have

tables, chairs, and decorations set up for your party as well as clean up after. Additional $20.00 fee.

Fun Leader in the Water: OAC Staff will lead party goers through fun games throughout the rental in the

water. Additional $40.00 fee.

BBQ Rental: Additional $15.00 for use of BBQ.

Program Descriptions

Aquafit: All classes are drop in, there is no registration necessary.

Shallow Aquafit: In waist to chest deep water, you will be lead through a

variety of exercises that will work your cardiovascular fitness as well as your

muscular strength and endurance.

Deep Water Aquafit: Participants must be comfortable in deep water to

participate. With the use of an aquatic floatation belt, our instructors will

lead you through a variety of exercises that will work on core strength,

muscular strength and endurance.

Lane Swim: Our pool has five lanes, designated fast, medium and leisure lanes. The following equipment that is available for use during lane swim: flutter boards, pull buoys, flippers, and aquabelts.

H2O to Go: 2 lanes are designated for this program. A swim workout is

prepared and posted on the board to challenge swimmers to increase

endurance, speed and coordination.

Program is not for beginner swimmers.

Lane/Tot Swim: 5 lanes are set up for lane swimmers. The tot pool,

waterslide and hot tub are open for babies and tots to come play with their

parents.

Public Swim: Main pool, Tot pool, Hot Tub, and Water Slide are open for

the general public. All kids under the age of 9 must be accompanied by a

responsible adult in the water at all times. The ratio is one adult per three

children under the age of 9.

Family Swim: All children of any age must be accompanied by an adult over

the age of 18.

Youth Programs. Various programs and courses aimed at 9-13 year looking to stay

active in the water. Check our the brochure for details.

Registration For Home School Lessons

Registration for members of the Central Alberta Home Educators opens on February 16 2018.

Registration for the General Public on March 2 2018.

(if you are a member of the central group you need your rep to set you up in our new Registration System)

Tot Time

For children between the ages of three and six who are toilet

trained. Come join us for games, crafts and swimming.

We ask that they be sent with a peanut free snack and swimsuit

under their clothing.

FEE: $15.00/child/day

The aim of the program is through repetition and practice your

child will be learning to float on their own and progressing to

swimming short distances. The program runs three days a week

to reinforce the principles learned and to gain muscle memory

for the skills taught.

National Lifeguard training emphasizes prevention and effective

rescue response in emergencies including first aid treatment.

Fitness requirements include a timed object recovery, 50 m sprint

challenge, 50 m rescue drill and 400 m endurance challenge.

rent Bronze Cross and SFA/CPR C

Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard

Full Course

Lifesaving Society –Lifesaving Instructor

Date: June 14, 15, 21 & 22 2018

Time: 9:00 am-5: 30 pm

The Lifesaving Instructor course prepares individuals to organize,

plan, teach, and evaluate lifesaving, first aid skills and resuscitation

techniques of the Lifesaving Society’s programs. When you have

successfully completed this course you will be certified to teach and

examine The Swim Patrol Program, Junior Lifeguard Club, and the

Bronze Medal Courses.

Fee: $300.00

Pre-requisite: Age 16 with a Bronze

Cross Award

Date: June 29 2018

Time: 9:00-5:30

It provides in depth training in the HIGH FIVE Principles of healthy

child development so front-line leaders understand what they need

to do to ensure each child’s social, emotional and cognitive needs

are met. Leaders learn activities and gain knowledge, tips and

resources to enhance their programs as well as their relationships

with children and other staff members.

Pre-requisite: 15 years old desire to work with kids aged 6-12

Principles of Healthy Child Development

Lifesaving Society Bronze Medallion

Date: Mondays and Wednesdays Mar 19-April 9 2018

Time: 4:00-5:30 pm

Teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in

the four components of water-rescue education - judgement,

knowledge, skill and fitness. Rescuers learn tows, carries, defense

methods, and releases in preparation for challenging rescues of

increased risk involving conscious and unconscious victims of

various types. Lifesavers develop stroke efficiency and endurance

in a 500 m timed swim.

Fee: $136.00/person

Kids Zone

When: Mondays

Time: 4:00-5:30 pm

Session 2: February 26– April 9 2018

For Who: youth aged 8-12 that can swim 50 m of the pool and

tread water for 2 minutes.

Fee: pay $5.50 drop in fee or register for all of them.

Each week a new theme for the program. 45 minutes of structured

fun to get their heart rates up and their laughter going. Followed

by 45 minutes of Free Play.

Courses may be cancelled, combined, or moved due

to low registration one week prior to class start date.

Cancellation does not guarantee you will be trans-

ferred into an appropriate class.

If you sign up on a waitlist, you will only be contacted if

a spot becomes available.

Course Refund Policy

You must give seven (7) days notice prior to course start date to

cancel registration for a full refund.

Cancelations less than (7) Seven days will need a medical note to

receive full refund.

Withdrawal after course start date due to medical issue; a

pro-rated credit will be applied to your account

Lifesaving Society Junior Lifeguard Club

Date: Mondays from April 23-June 18

Time: 4:00-5:50 pm

The Junior Lifeguard Club (JLC) offers serious fun for kids 8

years and up who can swim at least 25m and tread water for

2 minutes. The Jr. Lifeguard Club provides an action-packed

challenge for kids who love the water but who want more

than "lessons."

OAC Advanced Lesson Volunteer Training

Dates: Mondays April 23-May 14

Time: 4:00-5:30

Do you think you may be interested in becoming a swim

instructor when you are of age? It will help prepare you for

volunteering with instructors. you will learn: proper ways to

assist children in learning swimming and water safety, games

and songs that help children learn, safety supervision and

grouping kids for maximum participation and safety.

Fee: $48.00

Pre-requisite: age 11-14.

Must have Swim Kids level

8th Annual Pirate and Princess Swim

When: Wednesday April 18 2018

Time: 1:00-4:00 pm

Games and activities for all ages:

Red Cross Adult/Teen Swim Strokes

Days: Mondays

Dates: April 9– June 4 2018

Time: 5:30– 6:15 pm

This class is planned around the goals of the participants. This is

an intermediate class for those of you who are comfortable in both

shallow and deep water as well as wanting to learn a new stroke or

correct and improve their strokes, and/or water safety skills

Pre-requisite: basic knowledge of strokes and comfortable in

deep water.

Fee: $55.20

Day: Wednesdays from 9:40-10:25 am

Fee: Included in your Pool Pass– Valid Pass Required

Reduce the stress on painful arthritic joints while Improving personal strength and functional mobility with our specialized arthritis program held in the shallow-water depth.

Non-swimmers welcome. Pre-registration required:

This class is planned around the goals of the participants. This is a

beginner class for those of you who are uncomfortable in the water

wanting to learn basic front and back swims, treading water and a

variety of water safety skills you can choose from if you desire.

Pre-requisite: Swim basics Lv 1 or swim tested and evaluated to be at

this level
