Introduction

The AR-15 is the semi-automatic civilian version of the M16 that is popularly used by the U.S. military forces.

This is a very historic weapon with a long background.

This weapon is very popular in the U.S. and is on the verge of being banned.

Specification

The AR-15 is a customizable rile that’s comes in may different options.

Its weight can range between 5.5 – 8.5 lb.

It also has many different barrel lengths ranging from 6.5 – 24in.

They can be made to hold almost any caliber ammunition but the most popularly used is .223.

Its effective range is between 400 – 600 yd.

It also has adjustable from and rear sights.

History

The AR-15 was designed by ArmaLite in 1953 and modeled after the AR-10.

ArmaLite then sold its rights to the AR-15 to Colt in 1959.

Colt then sold this rifle to many military services around the world, including the U.S. Navy, Air Force, Army, and Marine Corps.

ComponentsThe AR-15 has Four major components.

The Lower receiver.

The upper receiver.

The Stock.

The Barrel

The Lower Receiver

This is one of the most important parts of the rifle, and in the U.S. this is the only part of the rifle that is considered a firearm.

In the state of Florida when purchasing or buying an AR-15 the only part that must be registered is the lower receiver after that then all other parts are interchangeable.

The Lower Receiver consisst of a Trigger assembly.

The feeding assembly.

The safety assembly.

The fireing pin.

Upper ReceiverThis is the part of the rifle that connects the lower receiver and barrel.

This part of the rifle holds the rear sights and can also hold a scope or a carrying bar.

This is were the bullet is feed and held were the initial explosion is held with every shot.

The Stock

The Stock on the AR-15 is one of the reasons the rifle is very popular. In the stock there is a coil sprint that absorbes the impact of every shot making this a very enjoyabe gun to shoot.

There are hundereds of different stock styles and lngths most are adjustable and go pressed up against ones cheek or shoulder when shooting.

The Barrel

The barrel is the component of the rifle in which the bullet travels through.

They come in many different lengths.

The longer the barrel is the better for accuracy and distance.

The barrel has riles on it that you can attach fore-grips to, a flash-light or a tri-pod.

Conclusion

I strongly believe that this is one of the best rifles available.

This rifle is completely customizable and provides the owner the ability of creating it any way they like.

This is a very popular gun that almost all gun enthusiast have or are looking to buy.

It holds many purposes whether for home defense, hunting, or tactical use.
