DESCRIPTION

Discount codes website MyVoucherCodes.co.uk recently ran a survey amongst family and friends to better understand how Brits go about saving money. Whether skipping train fare, tucking into a bowl of cereal for dinner or haggling to their heart’s content, it seemed a number of Brits are living a thrifty lifestyle. Yet, there were a small pocket of people who found haggling ‘embarrassing’ or ‘cheeky’ – particularly when in a high street or designer store. A whopping 94.1% of people have used a voucher code – so it seems the Brits are more than happy to grab a pre-arranged bargain rather than barter it down themselves. The ease of using a voucher code is no doubt an attraction compared to a confrontational haggle. What surfaces as a main theme from the survey is that saving money is important to us Brits. Using money-saving techniques is no longer frowned upon, but admired – with 95% of people saying they wouldn’t be upset if someone used a voucher code when being treated to dinner out. Saying that, even though those surveyed know about these money-saving techniques, 25% save nothing each month, with 49% considering themselves bad at saving money. It certainly gives us food for thought. Check out the infographic for the full results…
