The cards have a dedicated video (DVI ) output port for viewing full-motion video (received

from fi ber) without loading the PCIe bus. GRT Matrix and Matrix Plus cards also serve as

fl exible graphics generators:

ARINC 818 over High-Speed Coax (HSC)ARINC 818 HSC leverages changes made in the ARINC 818-2 specifi cation, which

allows a low-speed return path for data. This change was made to accommodate

bi-directional signaling where a high-speed video path and a low-speed data path

are advantageous. ARINC 818 HSC implementations include a high-speed video

path (for example, 3.1875 Gb/s) and a low-speed data path (20 Mb/s) in the opposite

direction over a single coaxial cable. Using common coaxial cable, distances of 50

meters are possible, depending on the link rate and cable quality. ARINC 818 HSC is

ideal for applications where a bi-directional copper interface is required, such as high-

resolution optical or infrared sensors and where the cable must pass through a slip ring.

of our Matrix Plus, HS SAM, and

Pantera switch are now available.

Bi-directional, high-speed links over a

coax cable support ARINC 818 speeds

up to 3.1875 Gb/s. That’s expected to

reach 6.375 Gb/s later in 2016 with the

introduction of our Velocity platform.

HS SAM stand-alone module

The high-speed (HS) SAM Gen II is factory

confi gured for either ARINC 818 to DVI

or DVI to ARINC 818. Both generate

test patterns. In the ARINC 818 to DVI

confi guration, the HS SAM can be used as

a video monitor or line spy.

HS SAM is an essential tool for ARINC

818 testing. A USB interface allows

changing headers and uploading test

patterns. An SDK provides capabilities to

interface the HS SAM in your ATE.

GRT is introducing our High-Speed Coax unit, HSC

SAM, which is capable of connections up to 4.25 Gb/s

(see page 4).

The VCM (video converter module) is a fl yable,

rugged version of GRT’s SAM, proven for

years in labs and simulators. Extend the life of

airborne video components by quickly linking

them to ARINC 818 equipment. Conversions

include DVI to ARINC 818, ARINC 818 to DVI,

and custom (such as RS-170 and VGA). The

VCM is matched to your ICD and can be

certifi ed to DO-254, DO-160, MIL-STD 810, and

MIL-STD 461.

Titans employ 19-inch rack mounts.

This Titan-01 is confi gured as a multi-

channel recorder with hot-swap drives.

Sample application: cockpit display development

This rack-mounted system works for

factory automated testing (ATE), fl ight

testing, and simulation systems. Three

confi gurations are available:

• Titan 01: Multi-channel recorder

• Titan 02: Test/simulation system

• Titan 03: High-capacity converter

Titan-01 can be ordered to record and

play out one to six ARINC 818 channels

for later analysis.

For factory ATE, Titan-02 can

accommodate multiple ARINC 818 RX

and TX channels to test video sources

and cockpit displays in production.

Titan-03 can be factory confi gured to

start automatically from power-up

without the need for software

interaction. It can also be factory

confi gured to operate remotely.

Compact Europa

Europa’s compact chassis provides convenience and ease

of use for engineering development, fl ight testing, and fi eld

testing of ARINC 818.

The unit is small enough to support lab testing, where it can

easily be moved from one bench top to another. At the same

time it will be rugged enough for fl ight testing.

Users can operate the unit remotely without a keyboard and

mouse using Windows Remote, making the total footprint small

enough to locate it near any ARINC 818 equipment being tested.

Callisto is a medium-sized platform for

engineering development and simulation of

ARINC 818 systems. Each unit provides up to

four channels factory confi gured to specifi c

tasks. Four base models are tailored for your

specifi c engineering needs. Callisto-01,

-03, and -04 are record / playback

systems, distinguished by tower, rack,

and rugged EATX chassis, respectively.

Each includes four 1-terabyte removable

drives and StreamPix 6 recording

software.

Callisto-02 is a test/simulation system

The XF Tuner is a universal ARINC 818 video generator that can

create a transmitter to support any interface control document (ICD).

Implement a new ICD in minutes, facilitating ARINC 818 development

and robustness testing.

Matrix MultiCard 9-channel GUI

VPA video and protocol analyzer

The VPA is a complete system and an essential tool

for the ARINC 818 designer. It is a PC, card, and

software that captures ARINC 818 video and provides

a complete analysis at multiple levels: byte, FC frame,

video line, and video frame. It also evaluates line and

frame timing. Unlike FC analyzers, the VPA is video-

and ARINC 818–centric.

Matrix MultiCard software for Titan, Callisto, and

Europa systems provides easy control of up to

nine ARINC 818 channels through an intuitive

GUI. It detects all cards on a system, creating

an individual viewport for each. Designate each

card as a transmitter or receiver. MultiCard
