IGINLA TIES FEDOROV FOR 48th IN POINTS; SITS ONE GOAL SHY OF 21st With a goal and an assist on Saturday, Jarome Iginla moved into a tie with Sergei Fedorov for 48th place on the NHL’s all-time scoringlist with 1,179 career points.  Iggy is now one goal shy of tying Mats Sundin and Joe Nieuwendyk (564) for 21st place on the NHL's all-time goals list.  Iginla has 563 goals and 616 assists for 1,179 points in 1,331 career games. He scored his 561st and 562nd careergoals on Oct. 24, passing Guy Lafleur (560) and Mike Modano (561) for 23rd place all-time.  Jarome passed Bobby Hull (1,170) for solepossession of 49th place on the all-time points list with an assist on Oct. 21.  Only Jaromir Jagr has more goals among active playersand only Jagr and Joe Thornton have more points.  Iginla has twice finished runner-up for the Hart Trophy (2002, 2004), which includedfinishing second in the closest voting ever in 2001-02.  He won the Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy as the NHL’s leading goal scorerin 2002 and 2004 and captured the 2002 Art Ross Trophy as the league’s scoring leader.  Iginla was named to the NHL’s First All-StarTeam in 2001-02, 2007-08 and 2008-09, and the NHL’s Second All-Star Team in 2003-04.  He was selected to the NHL All-RookieTeam and was a finalist for the Calder Trophy in 1996-97. PK STAYING STRONG The Avs have not allowed a power-play goal in their last four games, killing off all six short-handed situations.  As of Monday, Coloradoranked third in penalty killing at 88.3% (68/77).  The Avalanche ranked second at home, allowing just two PPG in 33 opportunities atPepsi Center (93.9%).  The Avs had a streak of 29 consecutive penalty kills from Oct. 24 to Nov. 4.  It was the club’s longest single-season streak since 1998-99, when the Avs killed off 35 straight from Oct. 31 to Nov. 17, 1998. BRIERE TALLIES 300TH IN DRAMATIC FASHION Daniel Briere scored his 300th NHL goal on Oct. 13 at Boston, lighting the lamp with under a second left in regulation to give theAvalanche a 2-1 victory.  Briere became the first player in Avalanche/Nordiques history to score a game-winning goal with one secondleft in regulation.  Prior to that, Colorado's latest game-winning goal was scored at 19:52 of the third period – a mark set by Jan Hejdaon April 13, 2013 vs. Vancouver.  Briere’s goal was only the fourth last-second tiebreaking goal (in regulation) over the last eightseasons.  The other buzzer beaters since 2007-08: Brad Richards (Dec. 17, 2011 at Phoenix), Drew Doughty (Feb. 1, 2012 vs.Columbus) and David Krejci (Oct. 24, 2013 vs. San Jose).  Briere became the 16th active player to reach the 300-goal milestone.
