Police responded to reports of gunshots in the area of 54th

Avenue and Ocotillo Road in Gilbert and found Elena

Gonzalez with gunshot wounds in one of the homes in the

neighborhood. She was taken to the hospital where she

was pronounced dead. Police are searching for Gonzalez's

boyfriend of seven months, 34 year old Max Quijada.

Gonzalez's sister reported there were issues with the

relationship and Gonzalez's last Facebook post stated she

was staying at a domestic violence shelter.

Jeremy High, a local Tucson rapper, was shot on Jan. 15th

and died on Jan. 16th inside a Tucson apartment. Elijah

Kawon Muhammad Lee Mays, High's brother, was arrested

by police in connection to the murder but was released and

charges dismissed for further investigation. Police said in a

statement that the case is still ongoing and that this may

not be a permanent dismissal.

domestic violence disturbance. Law enforcement witnessed

the male suspect, Ingram driving in the area and initiated a

traffic stop. Shots were fired by both the officers and the

suspect. The two officers sustained non-life threatening

injuries and Ingram died shortly after the incident.

Sarah Drewer was fatally shot by her estranged husband

Douglas Drewer outside of her Scottsdale home before he

killed himself. A construction worker in the area heard a

child screaming for help and saw the Drewers struggling for

control of a handgun in the home. The worker wrestled the

gun away and led Sarah and the child away. Douglas

emerged from the home with another gun and told the

worker to take the child away, which he did, before

Douglas shot Sarah and then himself. Sarah had obtained

an order of protection against Douglas in 2009 due to

domestic violence, and police had served Douglas with a

new, separate Order and impounded his guns four days

prior to the shooting.

On 2/16/2015, law enforcement searched for Daniel

Lawrence Caldwell in connection to an domestic

aggravated assault where he reportedly fired his gun while

arguing with his girlfriend. Marana police located his vehicle

in the parking lot of a Motel 8, where Caldwell was renting

a room. Video footage shows Caldwell walking up to an

officer's patrol car with a gun. The officer got out of the

vehicle and made contact with Caldwell, who was in the

process of raising his handgun. The officer fired at Caldwell,

although it is not known if gunfire was exchanged. Caldwell

was taken to the hospital where he died.

Allison Feldmand was found dead in her home by her

boyfriend. According to reports, her boyfriend found her

nude with a towel wrapped around her head, laying in a

pool of blood with signs of serious head trauma. Her

boyfriend has not been named a suspect in the case. Police

remain tight lipped about the details of the case as they

search for her murder.

Susan Joy Jacobson told Sheriff's deputies that she shot and

killed her husband, Marvin Neal James and his body was

still in their home. The couple was not married but had

lived together five years and had a 3 year old and was

pregnant with a second child. The 3 year old was present at

the home at the time of murder.

Tempe police arrived at Tempe home and heard screams

for help from inside. They forced entry and were attacked

by Matthew Metz. Officer Julie Werhnyak was stabbed in

the attack and officers fired multiple rounds at Metz, killing

him. Officers fount Metz's girlfriend tied up and stabbed.

She is in stable condition and expected to make a full

recovery.

Eric Anderson Jr. shot and wounded his girlfriend, whose

name has not been released, before shooting himself to

death in an attempted murder-suicide. The woman had

surgery for two gunshot wounds and was in stable

condition. The two had been dating for less than a year and

were living together at the home. Witnesses told police

Anderson often acted paranoid and jealous throughout

their relationship and was heard threatening suicide just

before the shooting.

A police officer shot and killed Ryan Dean Burgess during a

domestic violence call. Burgess lived with his mother and

was reportedly punching holes in the walls of the home

when officers were called. Officers reported that Burgess

pointed a BB gun replica of a handgun at officers and

refused to drop it after being ordered to drop the weapon

several times before an officer shot him.

Officer Alex Yazzie was fatally shot during a March 19th

shootout between tribal police and Justin Fowler near the

Arizona-New Mexico border. Fowler was also fatally shot,

and two other officers were wounded in the shootout.

Fowler led police on a high speed chase from a home in

Shiprock, New Mexico where he allegedly had been beating

his wife and mother and threatening them with a firearm.

Police reported that a woman and her 29 year old son got

into an argument in a vehicle. During the altercation, the

suspect began stabbing his mother with a box cutter who

then fell out of the vehicle. Several witnesses came to the

woman's aid and tried to stop the suspect. One of the

witnesses shot the suspect after giving several commands

to stop stabbing the woman. The woman was in critical

condition but survived while her son died. The mother,

Victoria Mendez said her son had been struggling with

addiction for over 15 years and that he was high on crystal

meth at the time of the incident.

Michele Davis was stabbed to death by her husband, John

Davis Jr. in front of their seven children. John Davis called

911, stating he lost his mind and stabbed his wife after an

argument escalated when Michele confronted John about

slapping one of the kids. Court records indicate that John

Davis has been arrested four times over 18 years for

domestic violence and battery of a former spouse.

himself in and was taken into custody after he admitted to

Nava Pila. She was found two days before laying outside a

residential trailer, with trauma to her body resulting from

some type of assault.

himself after trying to kill his roommate 48 year old Wayne

Sander told law enforcement that his 59-year-old

roommate shot Sander before shooting himself. Sander

said the other man was distraught over a medical

condition. Sander was hospitalized in fair condition; the

other's man identity was not released immediately and the

case is being investigated as a suicide and attempted

suicide.

Julio Ceasar Galindo Hernandez turned himself into Phoenix

police officers for there murder of his ex-wife's boyfriend,

Ruben Aguliera Bustillos. Police say Hernandez went to a

Tempe apartment to confront his ex-wife and her new

boyfriend. His ex-wife called 911 after Galindo-Hernandez

went up to the driver's side of Bustillos' vehicle with a gun.

Galindo-Hernandez claimed Bustillos retrieved a handgun

of his own, but police said they didn't find any firearms

when they searched Busillos' vehicle. Bustillos fled the

scene until he turned himself into police the next day.

Five relatives were found dead in a suspected murder-

suicide after a fight over the family's limo business turned

violent. Police found three brothers, their mother and one

of the men's wife shot to death inside of a Phoenix home.

Police believe Driss Diaeddinn shot his brother's Reda

Diaeddinn and Dodi Fayed, his mother Kenza Benzakour

and his sister-in-law Meriem Ben Yahia before shooting

himself. Driss Diaeddinn's wife, a second female relative

and two children (a 3-year-old and an infant) escaped

unharmed. The suspect's wife escaped out the back of the

home with the children and called police who heard

gunshots in the background of the call. Officers arrived at

the home and the house remained barricaded for hours,

with witnesses reporting muffled sounds of gunshots about

an hour after the standoff began. After about an hour a

second female ran out of the home after hiding in a

bathroom. The family had origins in Morocco and police

attempted to communicate with the occupants of the

home during the hours-long standoff with a megaphone,

addressing the family in Arabic.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department responded to an

unknown problem at an Oro Valley home and found

Kerman Dubash unresponsive. Reports sate that a man

called 911 on April 12th and said he had just strangled his

wife and killed her and also stated that his wife was

"poisoning him and his daughter". The couple's daughter

told detectives that her mother's screams woke her up and

she found her father kitting her mother with the butt of a

pistol. Dubash was taken to the hospital and put on life

support on April 12th and was taken off life support on

April 20th. Dubash's husband, George A. Majewski was

initially arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree

murder and after Dubash was taken off life support,

Majewski was arrested on suspicion of first-degree

murder/domestic violence. Dubash and Majewski were

both veterinarians, although Majewski's license was

revoked four years ago due to incidents of rage. It was also

reported that Dubash and Majewski were in financial

trouble and Majewski was prone to mental illness. When

detectives searched the home, four handguns, five rifles, a

shotgun, medications, rat poison and ant killer were found.

Abraham Perez was arrested on charges of first degree

premeditated murder after he allegedly stabbed and killed

his neighbor, Michael Madril. Perez had left his girlfriend's

apartment following an argument that turned physical.

Mesa police report they visited the apartment after a 911

call hang up but made no arrest when the victim denied the

physical fight. When Perez returned to the apartment,

neighbors went to confront him about the abuse. Perez

attacked one of the neighbors, Madril killing him. Later, the

victim recanted her original story and reported that she had

Marylin Rivera Alvarez was arrested on second-degree

murder charges in connection with the shooting death of

her boyfriend Erasmo Gonzales. Court records show the

couple recently had several unreported domestic violence

incidents and police said Alvarez struggled with jealousy

and control issues. The incident occurred at a home where

Alvarez and Gonzales lived his family . Reports say that

Gonzales and Alvarez were fighting in a room when family

members heard a gunshot, and entered the room to find

Alvarez kneeling next to Gonzales' body with a gun nearby.

Alvarez called her family while in custody and said the

shooting was an accident and that Gonzales had hit her

during their argument. Police reported they found

scratches on Alvarez's neck and forehead.

nephew Dallas Orr after a dispute with other family

members. The family believed that Garcia-Alcantar was on

methamphetamine and that he threatened to shoot it out

with police after fleeing the scene.

before shooting and killing himself. Hatfield went to Poe's

home and an argument began in front of the home.

Hatfield began to damage Poe's vehicle and then argument

turned into a fight. Officers arrived at the home just as the

dispute turned physical. Hatfield and Poe went inside the

house where Poe shot and killed Hatfield before killing

himself. Officers then entered the home and found both

dead with signs of trauma.

Christopher Carrillo shot fatally shot four of his family

members, including his parents Raul Carrillo and Karen

Saari, his brother Erick Carrillo and his niece Isela Rodriguez

before turning the gun on himself. A friend of one of the

family members called 911 after he saw one of the victims

on the floor when he opened the front door. At a news

conference following the incident, family members stated

that Christopher was a loving son, brother and uncle who

showed no outward signs of violence. Family members

shared that Christopher had been evaluated for mental

illness recently, but they did not know of a diagnosis or how

far along in the process he was. They shared J34 had access

to weapons or firearms and that there were no signs of

aggressive behavior before. No motive for the shootings

has been made public.

David Joseph Engel fatally shot his estranged wife April

Louise Engel at their Mesa apartment before shooting

himself. April Engel had recently served divorce papers on

her husband and moved out of their apartment into a

friend's residence. She returned to the apartment for some

reason where her husband was waiting for her and shot

her. Officers report being called to the apartment in the

past, including the past week, for domestic issues.

Christopher Carrillo shot fatally shot four of his family

members, including his parents Raul Carrillo and Karen

before turning the gun on himself. A friend of one of the

family members called 911 after he saw one of the victims

Lindsay Esparza was fatally stabbed the morning on May

12th, 2015. Ceaser Julian Hernandez Enriquez was wanted

for his involvement in the homicide and was shot and killed

later that day according to the Mesa Police Department.

During the investigation of the stabbing homicide, multiple

911 callers reported shots fired in the area of the incident.

When officers arrived, Enriquez fled on foot and discharged

his firearm in the backyard of a residence. He continued to

flee and did not comply with officer's commands to put

down his gun, threatening to shoot himself before running

back towards pursing officers. When Enriquez ran towards

officers, one officer fired his weapon at Enriquez. The initial

investigation revealed that Enriquez sustained a single

gunshot to his upper body, consistent with a self-inflicted

wound. Both investigations are on-going.

Andrew Issacs is accused of child abuse after his 22 month

old stepdaughter, Joylynne, died in his care. Joylynne's

mom, Aminda Giebel said she did not notice any signs of

abuse. Giebel left Joylynne and her 4 year old son at home

with Isaacs while she ran errands. Isaacs called Giebel

saying that Joylynne bumped her head, but Giebel noticed

bruises by Joylynne's ear when she returned home. When

paramedics arrived, there was obvious bruising and injuries

to the child's forehead, face and ear. Initially Issacs

reported that the child fell face first while playing with him,

but the 4 year old reported that Issacs hit his sister in the

face hard. The Arizona Department of Child Safety received

a report of abuse in December that Issacs was giving

Joylynne Percocet in order to tranquilize her. A DCS

caseworker was sent to the home, but nobody was home

so the caseworker left a card and did not follow up.

Nicole Rivas was reported missing on June 6th and her body

was later found four days later early Wednesday morning in

a desert area near Stanfield. Authorities reported she was

killed days before her body was discovered and her body

was dumped near a farm. The cause of death has not been

released but her boyfriend Rolland Camargo has been

arrested in connection to her death.

Ricardo Figueroa was found in the middle of the street with

multiple traumatic wounds and died shortly after he was

found. 16 year old Andres Jesus Moreno faces second-

degree murder charges in connection with the killing of his

girlfriend's father Ricardo Figueroa. Figueroa's 15 year old

daughter reported that Moreno came to visit her, climbed

in through her bedroom window and accused her of

cheating on him. The two argued over returning each

other's property when Moreno produced what appeared to

be a small kitchen knife and said he was going to slash her

mother's tires. Figueroa went outside at this time,

unarmed. She then heard her father yelling in pain in the

street and witnessed Moreno running down an alley. When

detectives arrived, then noticed an axe near the victim,

although it is unclear if the axe was used as a weapon or

where it came from.

Reynaldo Amaya was booked into a Cochise County Jail on

domestic violence and harassment charges. He was found

dead in his cell after apparently hanging himself with a

noose made from a sheet. Amaya was released from prison

in January 2015 after serving a 3.5 year sentence for a

domestic violence charge and a marijuana violation.

Scottsdale police spent hours at the scene of a barricade

situation that started as a domestic violence call when an

armed man confronted his ex-wife and 12 year old son as

they left the house. The woman and boy made their way

safely to a neighbors house, and told police they heard a

gunshot as they fled. The man went into the house,

ransacked it, fired several more shots and attempted to

start a fire in the home that sprinklers extinguished. Police

evacuated more than a dozen people from six surrounding

homes, brought in the SWAT team and had the Fire

Department on the scene as well. Police were able to get

the suspect on the phone briefly during the standoff. When

officers were finally able to enter the home, the man was

found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police have

not released any information about the suspect.

On July 22th, 2015 a carrier went to the door of the

couple’s house to deliver a package when he discovered

Kualls’s body just outside the front door. When police

arrived they discovered Reed’s body inside and were able

to determine Reed shot and killed Kualls before turning on

the gun on himself in a murder suicide. Reed had a history

of domestic violence related calls with former relationships

and a order of protection taken out against him by an ex-

wife.

Shayle Estes was shot and killed by her former boyfriend

Igor Zubko, a Russian national who Estes had been dating

and living with for several months prior. After Estes ended

things with Zubko, she started to receive threatening text

messages from him which prompted her to take out an

order of protection against Zubko. Zubko admitted to

buying a gun in a private internet sale the day before and

proceeded to wait till Estes was not home to enter her

house using a key he had never returned. When she arrived

home the two apparently argued and when Estes

attempted to flee, Kubko shot her multiple times. She was

later found dead in the kitchen by her roommate along

with a handgun and shell casings. Zubko was later arrested

at Phoenix Sky Harbor after he purchased a one way ticket

to San Francisco.

Trina Heisch was found decapitated in the closet of her

apartment along with her two dogs who had also been

killed and decapitated. Kenneth Wakefield, 43, was

arrested after a neighbor called the police after attempting

to check on Heisch. When Wakefield answered the door he

was naked and had several self-inflicted injuries including a

severed arm and a missing an eye. The neighbor said that

the apartment was covered in blood and called the police

after Wakefield admitted to killing three family members.

Wakefield and Heisch had a history of a domestic violence

relationship and Wakefield had been arrested in 2003 for

attempting to kill another family member.

head from a hatchet on August 12th, while his son George

Alessi was found with a gunshot would to his head. George

Alessi was transported to a hospital but later died from his

injuries. Police say that the incident was domestic violence

related, although there was no history of domestic violence

between the father and son.

On Saturday night, Armando Serrano Jr. was shot and killed

by police after he fatally shot and killed Richard Fries at a

mobile home park the night before. On Friday night, police

were called to the mobile home park when they received a

call that a man was lying in the parking lot. Police identified

the man as Richard Fries and after witness interviews police

determined there were looking for Serrano. Saturday night

the police were again called after a caller reported some

suspicious activity in the parking lot of the mobile home

park where Fries was killed. Once on the scene police tried

to make contact with Serrano who then fled. Gunfire was

exchanged and Serrano was shot and killed. Police are still

looking into the incident.

Kyit Oo was arrested after his wife Za Bay Da’s body was

found by a land management officer near an Avondale lake

late Saturday night. During an interview with Oo, he said

that his wife asked to go to the lake, a spot where they

often visited. While diving to the lake, the two started to

argue and once at the lake, Oo struck his wife in the head

and face causing her to fall into the water. Oo the pulled

her out of the lake and started fighting with her again. Oo

hit her once more causing her to fall back into the lake

where she passed out. Oo pulled her out again and left her

on the bank. Oo then left her there while he drove to his

parent’s house to change. He then returned to the lake and

found his wife still unconscious so he proceeded to call 911.

Oo admitted to police that he and his wife had many

domestic violence fights since they were married in 2009.

outside her home around 4:51 a.m after a witness reported

seeing the suspect Cindy Campagne lying on top of Valdez-

De Campagne. The witness also saw Campagne later hiding

shirt on August 16th. Campagne was arrested on suspicion

of second-degree murder for the stabbing of her cousin

after reportedly getting into an argument in the driveway

of Valdez-De Campagne’s home. Police have yet to

determine a motive but believe mental-health issues for

Campagne might have been a factor.

Steele was pronounced dead at the scene, but his girlfriend

A sedan was spotted burning near Waterman Mountain

Road. After the fire was extinguished, officers found human

remains inside. No other information was available at this

time.

After a call to the authorities, officers discovered the bodies

of Sophia Gibbs and Jesse Romero on August 18th near

Tonopah, along the Salome Highway near 395th Avenue.

Images from a news helicopter spotted one body leaning up

against a fence and the other along the road about 50 to 60

yards away from each other. Both victims had been shot

but currently officers are searching for more details.

After a relative discovered the body of a 45-year-old

women and her boyfriend shot to death, police were called

to the scene to determine the cause. Police at first

suspected murder suicide but were quick to rule that out

after doing their initial investigation. The bodies were found

in separate areas of the house and police found no signs of

forced entry or robbery. Police are currently looking for the

homeowner’s jeep that was missing but at the moment are

still looking into the case. The names have not yet been

released.

brother Evan McAdams (21) in what he claims was self

defense. One witness said they saw the two arguing as they

drove eastbound on University Drive. The two brothers

was when the younger brother shot him and then

proceeded to walk away. Police say that Evan McAdams

was in possession of a semi-automatic handgun while his

brother was found unarmed. Evan McAdams was arrested

and is currently facing second-degree murder charges

Mireya Alejandra Lopez was arrested on Monday August

31st after admitting to police that she intentionally

drowned her twin 2-year-old boys in a bathtub. The boy’s

grandmother called 911 round noon on August 30th and

police arrived to find the boys in a bedroom on a bed, and

were then rushed to the hospital. Lopez then admitted to

police that she killed her sons and was take into custody.

Police reported that she also tried to drown another one of

her children but was unsuccessful. The twin’s father stated

that he had joint custody and was scheduled to get them on

Friday. He also said that Lopez suffered from anxiety and

depression but had never threatened anyone before.

On September 4th, John Denton shot and killed his wife

Mona Denton in their Scottsdale home. After shooting and

killing his wife, Denton ran to his neighbor’s home where

he told his neighbor his wife needed medical attention. He

then ran back into his home, locked the door and shot

himself. When police arrived they found both Denton and

his wife dead. According to police, they discovered that the

couple were having marital problems.

Brenda Ramirez was arrested on suspicion of felony child

abuse after the drowning death of her 1 year old daughter.

Police were called to Ramirez’s apartment where they

found her daughter wet and unresponsive. After being

rushed to the hospital, the girl was pronounced dead.

Ramirez calms that she had only stepped away from the

bathtub for a minutes when her daughter drowned. Her

other three- year-old daughter was removed from the

home and is currently with the Department of Child Safety.

After a fire burnt down a home in Surprise, firefighters

started shifting through debris when they discovered two

bodies. Maricopa County Sheriffs arrested Anthony Fimbres

late Sunday in connection with the murders. So far no

information about the victims has been released pending

further investigation.

The Coconino County Sheriff's Office said searchers found

the bodies of 23-year-old Ashley Darby and 35-year-old

Jeriah Hildwine on Wednesday. The couple had been

missing since early September. The couple had been dead

for some time. In November, Coconino County officials

officially ruled that Darby’s death was a homicide while

declaring Hildwine’s death a suicide. As it turns out,

Hildwine, a former art lecturer who had taught fulltime at

Northern Arizona University since 2013, had been accused

of sexual misconduct with a 22-year-old student.

Authorities are still looking into the case.

child on Sunday September 27th. Audra Lynn Jarrett called

common among the two but a exact motive is still

scene of a domestic violence incident. According to police,

the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office was called about a

fired shots at the officers in pursuit. At one point, Diaz

exited the vehicle behind a church and continued to fire

shots at authorities. After being unable to speak with him,

Diaz was shot and killed by a veteran officer.

Glenn Edward Baxter was reportedly separated from his

wife and had a history of domestic violence intentionally

killed his whole family by driving into Tempe Town Lake.

Surveillance cameras witnessed Baxter driving his SUV into

the lake early on Sunday morning killing his wife Danica

Baxter, and their three children Reighn, Nazyiah and

Zariyah. Police responded Sunday after receiving a call from

local fishermen that they saw the vehicle stop and then

drive into the lake. The SUV then went airborne and flipped

into the water that was about 6 to 7 feet dep. When police

arrived they found four of the family members

unresponsive and later found the third child strapped into a

car seat in the back row of the SUV. Officers found Danica’s

cell phone under a nearby bench where they believe Glen

Baxter made a point to leave it that contained text

messages sent to Glen Baxters mother relating to dropping

her children of at her house. One text message said that

“your son is upset”. Police are still investigating but have

confirmed it was a murder suicide.

reported that on October 18th, Jaramillo and Wolf were

driving. Jaramillo attempted to conceal Wolf’s body and his

vehicle but it was later found by police. Jaramillo turned

himself in on Monday morning and was arrested.

Lola T. Griffith and her son were found dead in a mesa

hospital on Saturday November 7th in what police are

calling an apparent murder-suicide. Both mother and her

son were discovered by hospital staff after 2 am during a

routine bed check. Police have yet to release the cause of

death for both mother and child, but Helious had been

hospitalized for the past week before the murder but it is

unclear as to why. In an online post, Griffith had

mentioned that her son had been diagnosed with dystonic

cerebral palsy as a 1 year old but police have yet to release

if that was the reason for the hospitalization.

Police say 47 year old Gonekie Tatum died after an

altercation that took place outside of her ex-boyfriends

apartment Friday night. According to police, Tatum

apparently drove to her ex-boyfriends apartment who is in

a new relationship and at some point an argument broke

out between Tatum and someone at the apartment. Police

have confirmed it was a domestic violence incident but

have yet to determine the cause of death but believe no

weapons were involved.

Raboin on Monday after Raboin began arguing with Gilbert.

love you. Don’t do this.” The roommate then called police

and Raboin was arrested and police conducted a high-risk

Andres Serrato admitted to police that he shot and killed

Joshua Luck because he suspected he was having an affair

with his wife. Police say that Luck and Serrato were

neighbors and reportedly got into an argument on Nov.

26th. The next day Serrato asked Luck for help moving to

California when he shot and killed him in the Phoenix

apartment. Serrato’s wife admitted to police that she heard

the gunshots and found Serrato standing over Luck’s body.

Serrato’s wife also told police that she helped clean up the

scene and load Luck’s body into the U-Haul truck. After

Luck’s body was loaded into the truck, Serrato then drove

the truck to California where the body was discovered by

police when helping a victim of domestic violence get her

items from the back of the truck. Serrato was arrested that

Saturday on suspicion of battering his wife and for

possession of an AK-47 with a high-capacity magazine,

methamphetamine and cocaine.

An inmate at the Pinal County Jail died on Friday after

hanging himself with a bed sheet in his cell according to the

Pinal County Sherriff’s Office. The 23 year old inmate

whose name has not been released was found unconscious

and then taken to the hospital where he later died. The

inmate was jailed on charges of domestic violence and told

family members he was going to kill himself but the family

did not notify the jail staff.

knife in the chest. Authorities say alcohol was a factor and

Police say that 25-year-old Caleb Shaffery lured McGarvy

into a bedroom where he then bashed her skull with a

hammer and stabbed her with a knife. According to police

Shaffery, who is McGarvy’s ex-boyfriend attacked her while

their 3-year-old daughter was in another room. After he

killed McGarvy, Shaffery then walked their daughter to a

neighbor’s house, called his mother and confessed before

calling 9-1-1. Shaffery’s mother told law enforcement that

he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder two years ago

and suffers from depression. She also said Shaffery had

found out that McGarvy was dating a former co-worker of

his which may have been the cause of the murder. Police

say Shaffery admitted to planning the murder, that he'd

been wanting to kill McGarvy for some time and that he

also admitted he chose a roofing hammer to kill her

because "it would be an efficient murder tool with less

effort than using a knife."

Steven Wickert, an active duty Army National Guardsman

was shot and killed by Deputy Travis Rice after Wickert

attacked and strangled the deputy. This incident occurred

after Rice was called to a Tucson resort where he found

Wickert and his girlfriend in a verbal altercation resulting in

Wickert stealing his girlfriend’s purse and phone and

running away. Rice began looking for Wickert and found

him in a dark stairwell where Wickert then called Rice “not

a real cop,” and started assaulting him. Wickert struck Rice

on the head knocking him unconscious. When Rice regained

consciousness, Wickert was on top of him with a

strangulation hold. The deputy tried to break the chokehold

but was able to strike Wickert once on the head resulting in

Wickert’s death. No other information is available at this

time.

Hojat Fahandej Saadi, 36, was arrested after stabbing his

wife of 13 years with a survival style axe. His wife Laleh

Fahandej Saadi, was able to escape and run to her

neighbors but was so badly injured she died at the scene.

According to records, neighbors recalled many incidents of

unreported domestic violence in the past with Hojat being

the aggressor. Police said that Hojat lived separately from

Laleh in an apartment in north Phoenix. The suspect then

drove to her apartment attacked his wife and then fled in

an SUV. Police later arrested Hojat and found the ax in a

dumpster. Video surveillance was found that showed a man

matching Hojat’s description buying at ax at a local sporting

goods store. Hojat was arrested and will face murder

charges.

shots resulting in Mould dying later at the hospital. No

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 53-year-old

woman for fatally shooting her long-term domestic partner

Monday night. The victim, whose name has yet to be

released is said to be a 54-year-old woman who was found

on the sidewalk outside her home. She was transported to

a Tucson hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Police reported that calls came in regarding shots being

fired at a house in Red Rock, just north of Tucson and once

on the scene found the victim. Police were able to arrest

the suspect without any altercations and stated that they

believe the homicide to be domestic violence related. The

couple had been reported living together for the past 15

years and had no reported incidents of domestic violence

with police in the past.

Trina Heisch was found decapitated in the closet of her

apartment along with her two dogs who had also been

killed and decapitated. Kenneth Wakefield, 43, was

arrested after a neighbor called the police after attempting

to check on Heisch. When Wakefield answered the door he

was naked and had several self-inflicted injuries including a

severed arm and a missing an eye. The neighbor said that

the apartment was covered in blood and called the police

after Wakefield admitted to killing three family members.

Wakefield and Heisch had a history of a domestic violence

relationship and Wakefield had been arrested in 2003 for

attempting to kill another family member.
