PELHAM, Alabama -- Halfway through the third and final period of Sunday's SouthEastern Collegiate Hockey Conference (SECHC) championship game, it appeared thatthe Alabama Frozen Tide had the first-place trophy all locked up.

Instead, the Razorbacks took advantage of two power plays and scored goals with 8:45and 6:53 left in the game to defeat the Tide, 2-1.

After a tightly defended first period, Alabama's only score came in the second on adelayed penalty call.

The win gave Arkansas its second consecutive SECHC championship. Alabama willcontinue its season at the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) SouthRegionals tournament, and will await word on a berth in the Division 3 nationalchampionships next month in Coral Gables, Florida.

The tournament was held at the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena.
