ARNE QUINZEMy Secret Garden

We are thrilled to welcome Arne QUINZE, the first Belgian artist our gallery will represent.

QUINZE has been creating for the last 20 years and is famous for his massive outdoor sculptures that transformentire neighbourhoods and cities. A preview will be presented at BRAFA Art Fair 2018, while his first solo showwith us, My Secret Garden, starts on March 31 in our Knokke gallery with an entire new body of work.

Arne QUINZE was born in 1971 in Belgium. In the eighties he began working as a graffiti artist but he neverfinished an official art education. He lives and works in Sint-Martens-Latem, Belgium and Los Angeles, US.

QUINZE creates large and small sculptures, drawings, paintings, and large-scale installations. Smaller works,sketches, and drawings are the basis and research for his large installations. Recurring fundamentals in hisoeuvre are the use of wood and metal as well as electrical colors in fluorescent paint.

His works often pick social interaction, communication, and urbanism as their central themes. What drivesQUINZE is the belief in the possible realization of an idealistic society where all individuals communicate andinteract.

QUINZE's work has been exhibited internationally, including museums such as the Guggenheim Museum, theTropenmuseum in Amsterdam, the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humblebæk, the Musée des Beaux Arts inRouen, the Kunsthal in Rotterdam and the Musée d’Art Moderne et d’Art Contemporain in Nice.

Additionally, QUINZE has made installations for Human Rights Watch, The Flemish Parliament in Brussels, theBurning Man Festival, and for Rock Werchter, where he had a double role as curator for three consecutive year.
