About Us - Our Mission The mission of the Arts Academy at Memorial is we are called by Christ to grow in faith, build relationships and serve all people through the arts.

Throughout church history, the Christian story has been told in fine art, drama, music and the artisan crafts. We hope to embrace this tradition. We have the opportunity to tell and experience the Christian story through art, often in subtle and yet profound ways. Through this creative experience, our goal is that each child comes to understand that they are gifted and loved by a personal God.

The Academy will be closed Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24th

Family discounts are available. Payment can be in full or in 3 equal monthly payments. Tuition due dates are, Sept. 5th , Oct. 3rd, and Nov. 1st.

Adult Guitar: (13 and up) Day of the Week: Thursday Time: 6 - 6:45pmThis class is for first time guitar students. Learn the basics of playing a guitar in a group setting. Class is limited to 8 students.

Beginner Group String (Violin, Viola, Cello): Day of Week: Tuesday Time: 5 - 6pm This class is for beginner string students. Learn the basics of string instruments in a group setting using traditional methods. Class is limited to 6 students. Ask about Violin rental.

Intermediate Group String Day of Week: Wednesday Time: 4 - 4:45pm Class placement to be determined by instructor. Class continues to build on foundation of basic string methods.

Intro to Music (homeschoolers)Day of Week: Tuesday Time: 10 - 11amThis class will incorporate various music styles and instruments. Contact Brian Russell to determine specific class needs.

PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS Private music lessons are 30 minutes each. Lessons are $20 per class/ $80 per month.

Drawing Essentials Day of Week: Tuesday Time: 5 - 6pmExperience the world of shapes and shades. We cover line drawing, shading, stippling, doodling, perspective and other elements that involve pencil and paper. Class is limited to 8 students.

Digital Photography (13 and up)Day of Week: Tuesday Time: 7 - 8pm Learn how to use your camera settings and photography techniques. Class limited to 8 participants.

Art for Intellectually Disabled (any age)Day of Week: Wednesday Time: 4 - 5pm This class allows students to be free to express themselves with a variety of media. Class will meet twice a month on 1st and 3rd Wednesdays. Class is limited to 6 students. Caregivers are asked to stay on the premises.

Art and Spirituality (adults) Day of Week: Thursday Time: 5 - 6pm Delve into scripture via lectio divina and spend time with God expressing God’s word through creative activities. Class is limited to 8 participants.

Beginner Visual Art: (min. age 5) Day of Week: Monday Time: 4 - 4:45pm This class is for young children to experience basic art concepts and a variety of media including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media. Class is limited to 8 students.

Intermediate Visual Art: Day of Week: Tuesday Time: 4 - 5:15pm Students will study basic concepts and techniques of visual art using varied media including drawing, painting, sculpture and mixed media while learning about important artists and movements. Each class is limited to 8 students.

Advanced Visual Art: (min. age 10)Day of Week: Monday Time: 5 - 6:15pm This class focuses on advanced technique and skills of various art media. Class is limited to 8 students

Painting (13 to adult)Day of Week: Wednesday Time: 7 - 8:15pm In this class learn the basics of painting using acrylics and watercolors.
