We will attempt to cover three specific technologies needed in our classrooms

The first is Adobe Programs and how it has changed art teachingBloggingArt Educator’s Resources

This presentation was designed with the classroom art teacher in mind. It can serve as a general reference for specialists, or as a practical guide to delivering Art Technologies for those with less experience in art or design. Wherever possible a variety of ways of exploring topics are suggested. This was done to ensure that schools with different types of equipment, and teachers with different combinations of skills can participate, while ensuring that students receive a meaningful exposure to the technologies being explored.

Visual learning

Visual texture discrimination has been shown to induce long-lasting behavioral improvement restricted to the trained eye and trained location in visual field We tested the hypothesis that such learning involves durable neural modifications at the earliest cortical stages of the visual system, where eye specificity, orientation, and location information are mapped with highest resolution.

Within-subject comparisons between trained and untrained eye for targets presented within the same quadrant revealed higher activity in a corresponding retinotopic area of visual cortex. Functional connectivity analysis showed that these learning-dependent changes were not associated with an increased engagement of other brain areas remote from early visual cortex.

We suggest that these new data are consistent with recent proposals that the cellular mechanisms underlying this type of perceptual learning may involve changes in local connections within primary visual cortex. Our findings provide a direct demonstration of learning-dependent reorganization at early processing stages in the visual cortex of young adult humans. [Karni, A. &Sagi, D.] (1991) Proc. Natl. Acad. Students will learn more about the issues and concepts being discussed, if they are able to work with their new knowledge in an experiential way. It is recommended that a broad range of art media be made available to students, both traditional and contemporary.

Students should be encouraged to explore, and experiment with different art technologies in the completion of assignments. All forms of visual media are acceptable.
