But still there is a large number of public areas including parklands as well as squares and similar spaces for people to share. Usually sharing means being at the same place, at the same time but not necessarily getting in touch with each other. So the idea is to set up an art gallery where found materials come into a different con- text by using them to bulid a new structure. This action might be combined with an event where random people can get in touch with each other and either share their opinion on art or even just creating a space to think and make people become more aware of the potential of urban space as well as the waste of daily items in our consumer society. How many goods do we really need and when does luxury become redundant? The solu- tion might be an interactice piece of art for people to share. looking at precedents _ this project helped me to get an overview of the variety of existing urban practices and it helped to get an idea of what is possible in public space

observing sunshine

observing melbournes suburbs and getting in touch with the locals was a good experience to see different com-munities and their way of living/thinking especially for me as a foreigner in melbourne it was to get an idea of the

intervention action

interventing into people‘s daily routine on RMiT campus by setting up a facebook page in the middle of the street was one of my favourite actions. we attracted people by using a familiar image and got in touch with random people we wouldn‘t have talked to before.

observation

we set up pictures of politicians and one famous singer to get feedback from reandom people and to get in touch with people talking about the current electiion. some peo-ple were just interesting and spend ages to look at what other people have done to the pictures whereas others took the chance to express their opinion.

market trading

establishing market stalls and trading ideas about urban practices was a great opportunity to become familiar with everyone‘s ideas on the future projects while the project itself was an auxiliary and informative practice on how to develop ideas for a new project
