The artist's work will serve as an interface for community participation, engaging the community in the artist's work and use the making of art to help strengthen the community, draw attention to an important issue, and engage community members in new ways.

A residency at Pottery Northwest (Seattle, WA) is an opportunity to work within a community of individuals that share a passion for the creative act. Much more than a studio rental, it is a situation that holds the potential for dialog and exchange of ideas as well as technical expertise. Pottery Northwest welcome applications from diverse backgrounds, age groups, and experience levels who are actively engaged in and committed to their work. There is no degree requirement. Generally, the duration is six months to two years. Along with sales and exhibition events, there are possibilities for teaching assignments. Applicants are chosen for the quality of their work, a perceived potential for growth in their work, and the ability/willingness to contribute to the community within the studio.

Lydon Emerging Artist Program http://www.contemporarycraft.org/SCC/LEAP_award.html The program recognizes exceptional emerging talent in the contemporary craft field and provides opportunities for these early career artists to bring their artwork to the consumer market. The yearlong retail program will feature, market and sell the work of one winner, who will also receive a $1000 prize, and 10 finalists beginning in January 2014. LEAP is open to exceptionally talented graduate students and/or emerging artists who are beginning to receive recognition for their work, but are not currently represented by well-established galleries. Artists must work in craft media: ceramics, wood, metal/jewelry, glass, found materials, mixed media, fiber or a combination of these materials.

Theatre Communications Group Young Leaders of Color Grant http://www.tcg.org/grants/ylc/

The Young Leaders of Color Program was created in 2008 to gather groups of young theatre professionals of color from around the US at TCGs National Conferences to engage in a dialogue about the new generation of leadership. With the generous support of various funders, TCG is able to provide a limited number of conference stipends to selected young leaders of color from around the country. Stipends cover the expense of registration, travel and housing for the full TCG Conference. Throughout the week of the Conference, the groups convene alongside dozens of other young theatre professionals. These informal and structured sessions offer the group opportunities to exchange information about artistic and management experiences, identify solutions to challenges faced in their organizations and the larger field, develop a peer network and begin new collaborations.
