NZ Portrait Gallery, Shed 11, Queens Wharf,Wellington, 5.30pm Friday 27th September 2013
All other works are available for sale from10.30am, Thursday 26th September when thegallery opens to the public.
Auction
The highest bidder shall be the buyer. In the event of any disputeas to the bidding in respect of any lot, that lot may be offered againat the discretion of the auctioneer whose decision shall be absoluteand final.
The auctioneer has the right:
1. to refuse any bid
2. to advance the bidding at his absolute discretion
3. to place a reserve on any lot
4. to place a bid or bids on behalf of the seller
5. to withdraw any lot from sale
6. to require a successful bidder to pay forthwith the whole or any part of the purchase price
The auctioneer acts as the agent of the seller and neither he nor theseller shall be responsible for any defects or faults in any lot or forany errors of description or for genuineness or authenticity of anylot and no compensation shall be paid in respect of same.
From the time of lot being sold, such lot will be the responsibility ofthe buyer. Successful bidders are required to pay for purchasesimmediately on completion of sale, unless otherwise arranged.Payment to be made by cheque, bank cheque, telegraphic transfer,eftpos or cash.
Each lot shall be paid for and collection arranged within 48 hoursof the auction. Failing which the auctioneer and/or the seller shallhave the right to any deposit paid by the buyer and to resell theartwork either by public or private sale.
Online sales
We welcome online sales. Those works not in the auction are fordirect sale on a first come first served basis from 10.30am, Thursday26th September. Please call +64 29 226 0666 or [email protected].
Absentee Bids
Absentee bids are also accepted. These bids are made through theauctioneer who will execute to purchase as cheaply as permitted byother bids and reserves, if any. Payment
A deposit on the evening and balance following morning isacceptable as long as the goods remain on our premises. We requirepayment in full or a deposit to be made at the completion of theauction. The deposit must be $1,000 or at least 10% of the purchaseamount.
Works remain property of the artist and/or Art Enterprise until paidfor in full, and must be paid for with all monies settled beforecollection.
Eftpos: Available for transactions $2,000 or less which is the banksdaily limit.
GST: All prices are in New Zeland Dollars (NZD) and include GST
Bank deposits: Please ask for our bank details to be faxed or emailedif you wish to pay by direct debit. Quote the Lot number(s)
Cheques: Accepted by known clients of Art Enterprise or at ourdiscretion. When posting cheques please ensure they are sent tothe following address:

Freight & Packing
Art Enterprise will gladly arrange in house or professional packingand international, national or local freight at cost. Please arrangeinsurance on your items prior to them leaving our premises. In mostcases, we can arrange free delivery within the Wellington area.
Artists’ Royalty Resale Rights agreement (RRR)
Art Enterprise use and encourage the artists’ Royalty Resale Rightsagreement. This agreement means that 5% of the value of the artworkis paid to the living artist whenever the work is resold.
This is an agreement between the artist and purchaser and signedby both parties. It serves to keep the artist in contact with the workand helps to reward the artist for the hard work of building a career.Our artists have found that most buyers hold onto artworks andtherefore the works are rarely sold.
The form that we use is simple and available to view on our website.
A similar agreement has recently become law in Australia and moreinformation is available here: www.artslaw.com.au
