But the face lift is also visibl e on the o utside, with a more a pp ealing geometrical paint job in shades of bl ack, pink a nd red, eye-catching ni ghtlig ht s a nd a bra nd new 'un- finished li ghthouse'. Located o utd o or s, this mod ul e resembles a pu zz le that c hildren can solve by simply fittin g in the pieces acco rdin g to their im ag ina ti on. Set in a beautiful 18th-ce ntur y building near the Lagos ma rk et, the Li vin g Sc ience Ce ntr e in Lagos first opened in 2009 a nd aims to pr omote sc ience amongst the general publi c. gas were some of the public fi gures who atte nded the inauguration on August 1 and got to witness first-hand the centre's ma ny improveme nts and new addi tions. " It was more of a cosmetic re novation , bu t we have new modules a nd we 've also restructured some themes," said the educational coordinator ofth e Lagos Li ving Science Centre Beatriz Oli veira. "We've built a new module for younger children, called 'The Subma­rine ', which we've integrated in an ex istin g one , named 'Manouevring the Ship '," she explained . But the face lift is also visible on the outside, with a more appealing geometrical paint j ob in shades of black, pink and red , eye-catching nightlights and a brand new 'un­fini shed ligh thouse'. Loca ted outdoors, thi s mod ule resembles a pu zzle that childre n can solve by simply fittin g in the pieces according to their imagination. Set in a beautiful 18th-century building near the Lagos market, th e Livin g Scie nce Centre in Lagos first opened in 2009 a nd aims to promote science amongst the general public. •
