Introduction As a part of my A level course work and target audience

research I chose to explore the demographics and potential audience of the fashion industry in order to broaden my knowledge on how to design and construct my magazine corresponding to the consumers desires. I will operate using primary and secondary research to find out the demographics of how much of the society purchases fashion magazines by forming my own questionnaire then analyzing the results as well as online research. To assist me on making my survey I will be using www.surveymonkey.com. Once I have accumulated all the data useful to me I will later on use it to assist me in assembling my very own fashion magazine.

During the analysis of my survey I have come to the realization that there were more males than females. With this finding I will be focusing the design of my magazine towards the female population taking into consideration that there are some male based articles because they are apart of the fashion scene as well.

In the process of analysis of my survey I have come to the realization that the majority of the fashion scene is between 14 and 18 year-olds. I will be focusing my content and design on my target audience. I will be including articles for both young teens and older teens as they are all apart of the fashion scene consumer base.

I have come to the realization that the majority of the population buying magazines are students, in middle school, high school, college and university. My magazine will be relatable and informal as my consumer base is still youthful. As they are youthful they are still financially unstable, the price of my magazine will not be out of their price range.

While conducting my research I came across how often people bought magazines, weather being male or female. Due to some magazines coming out weekly, others monthly people tend to buy them monthly or at least 3-4 times a year. I have resolved that I will be issuing my fashion magazine yearly as my consumer base would acquire it.

After revising my survey results I came to the conclusion I will include a wide range of articles as my buyers showed interest in various articles. Articles such as gossip, the latest fashion trends, what celebrities are wearing nowadays, will be my main articles.

After conducting my own research about fashion magazines I noticed there are informal and formal magazines being sold around the world. Once I analyzed my survey closely I determined that my magazine will be informal as this being what my consumer base would mostly read, as well as this conclusion going along side their age, being teens.

Once concluding my online research I saw that magazines reacted with their target audience. I asked my target audience the same question, once concluding my analysis I will issue a magazine that will interact with my magazine readers.

Various magazines, as I’ve mentioned, interact with their readers. I’ve interacted with my readers through my questionnaire coming to the realization they would love to hear celebrities talk. As celebrities leave the biggest imprint and impression in the society today.

As a reader of various magazines I enjoy reading that someone won a prize, or won a little quiz or game listed in the magazine. Taking into consideration the age of my target audience, I analyzed my survey to come to the conclusion y consumer base would in fact want competitions, quizzes, etc.

Taking into consideration the age and current status of employment of my consumer base, I have analyzed at the end of my questionnaire that I will not be putting high prices on any issue of my magazine. I will keep the prices at a decent price, at an average of 3-5$.

Target Audience Profile

This is Jessica. She is 17 years old in year 13 of her school, she is completing her A Levels this year as previously completing AS Level s in year 12 the year before.

The two main classes she enjoys are Art & Design and Spanish. She enjoys fashion and languages in her free time, as she spends the whole day speaking of these topics with her friends. She loves being involved in the latest fashion trends, and always has the latest magazine issues of “Teen Vogue” , “W Magazine”, “Seventeen Magazine”. She even enjoys making her own fashion trends and statements. Jessica is quite a friendly and sociable female as she loves to spend her time reading fashion magazines with her friends, and discussing fashion trends.

She loves getting fashion tips on the latest fashion trends from various magazines, from adverts, online, various if not all social media. This also encourages her to become interested in various magazines, conducting her own research, buying magazines constantly, etc.

Target Audience ProfileJessica is very intrigued with finding

out other fashion trends, more of them, and she loves to explore fashion with her friends. They have stacks of magazines with them at all times, as well as buying more to keep up with all trends. Jessica enjoys setting her own fashion standards, she loves hanging out with her friends and discussing fashion. She enjoys going to shopping malls trying on clothing, hearing feedback on outfits she put together. She too loves going to cafes, and parks, and beaches with friends.

Jessica and her friends each have all kinds of memberships at all magazines such as seventeen magazine, teen, cosmopolitan, etc, to get them in the mail. As well as, in store memberships, JC Penny, BCBG Max Azria, etc. to get e-mails about new trends and styles as well as, following sites and social media accounts. Jessica mainly uses instagram and snapchat as they are the quickest and most accessible, they can follow their favorite fashion creator, or fashion icon this way.
