60% Growth in Number of Journal Articles Published

ASCE significantly increased the number of peer-reviewed articles published in ASCE Journals by 60% over a five-year period. In 2017, the number of articles published spiked at 4,800, compared with a previous baseline of 3,000 articles per year. The increased level will continue with 5,000 articles projected for 2018. The end result is a 65% increase in page budgets across the entire journals program. During this growth period, ASCE maintained its traditional rigorous acceptance rates to ensure high-quality papers are published.

29% Increase in Impact Factors for ASCE JournalsASCE Journals attract high-quality research as shown in important citation metrics. Overall, ASCE Journals had a 29% increase in Impact Factors with the 2016 report. Currently, 21 of the 27 JCR indexed journals are above the median Impact Factor for journals in the Civil Engineering category.

ASCE 7 Online PlatformThis new subscription-based platform replicates the provisions and commentary of ASCE 7-10 and ASCE 7-16 with enhanced features that make it easier for engineers to work with the standard, including redlining, notetaking, and real-time updates. asce7.online See pg. 10

NEW OVERLEAF WRITING TOOLASCE partnered with Overleaf to create an ASCE Template that allows authors to easily prepare and edit their manuscripts. Once complete, authors can submit the source files downloaded from Overleaf. While primarily a LaTex tool, the Overleaf template has a toggle feature between the LaTex source and a Rich Text editor, enabling LaTex authors to work collaboratively with authors not using LaTex. Using the basic template is free.

ORCID AUTHOR IDENTIFIERORCID provides a persistent digital identifier ensuring that you get credit for the work you have done. Authors can now provide an ORCID or register for an ORCID during the manuscript submission process. ORCIDs provided at submission will be published alongside author names allowing readers to access public profile information.

ASCE Subscription Policy• All subscriptions must be prepaid.• Subscriptions are accepted on a one-year basis only.

Multiple-year subscriptions will not be accepted. If previous annual volumes of the journals are requested, they will be charged at the current 2018 subscription price.

• All journal subscriptions are entered on a calendar-year basis. Service begins upon receiving a paid order. Back issues for the current year will be sent on late subscriptions. Civil Engineering subscriptions are entered on a random-expire basis — except for Civil Engineering Magazine Archive which is calendar year — and begin upon receipt of a paid order.

• There are no agency or library discounts given on subscriptions.

• Online subscription access requires both an online subscription payment and a signed User Agreement. You must register at http://ascelibrary.org/page/subscribetoascelibrarypackages to complete the online User License Agreement.

• Domestic rates apply only to the U.S. and possessions. International rates apply to all other countries. For journals and Civil Engineering magazine being shipped to international destinations, air delivery service is included in the international rate price.

• Requests for cancellation made after an order has been processed and service has begun are subject to a service charge. A credit or refund will be given on the unserved portion of the subscription.

• Missing-issue requests will be honored only if received within three months (domestic) and five months (international) of the publication date.

• Prices are subject to change without notice.

If at any time you are not completely satisfied with your journal subscription, you may choose to cancel it and receive a credit or refund on the unserved portion of the subscription. Cancellations on orders that have been processed and where service has begun will receive a prorated refund.

Archive PolicyASCE is committed to the long-term preservation of its digital journal content and has arranged for secure archiving with Portico and CLOCKSS to ensure that ASCE Journals are preserved and available for future scholars, researchers, and students. The archival record will include the back issues of all ASCE Journals currently available at ascelibrary.org.

Post-Cancellation Policy: Institutions may request post-cancellation electronic files on DVD for a nominal fee for the period during which an online subscription was held. The same usage rights as for active subscribers apply to use of the DVD archive copy. Upon lapse of an online subscription, no additional online service is provided. Note: The physical archive copy will not contain linking and other features inherent in the online version of the journal available to active subscribers.
