� As I sitdownwithpenandpaper inhand, trying towritea biography/personalitypro<ileof someonewhosawme�����up, notingmy changes outwardly, and my growing into a certain individual, I <ind it quite dif<icult to either write atranscriptoftheinterview,orvariousfactsaboutthepersonwithoutbeingverybiasedinmywriting.�� FatherNaabisleavingSt.PatrickCatholicparishinDwight. HewasappointedbythebishoptobecomepastorofSt.Malachy’sparish inGeneseo. He isa friendofmany,andwillbemissedby theparishionersofSt.Pat’s,aswellasbymanyothersinthecommunity.�� FatherNaabtooktimetore<lectonhisaccomplishmentsduringhis14½yearsinDwight.�� “Themajoraccomplishmentwasgettingacquaintedwith thepeople, thekids,and trying tohelpasmuchas I couldwith the people. Thenew church is an accomplishment, but I can’t look at brick andmortar as being a terribly importantmonumenttoanything.Youknowit’sanicechurch,andIreallyappreciateit,butthemostimportantthingisthepeople,thefriendshipofthepeople,especiallytheyoungpeople,”hesaid.�� “Ihavedonealotofthingswrong,Isuppose,butIthinkthatthefriendshipsthatI’veaccumulatedoverthepast14½yearsarethemostimportantthingtome,”hecontinued.�� “I’mproudofthekidsthatcamefromthisparish,becauseIthinkthatthey’veamountedtosomething,not<inancially,Idon’t look to thatassuccess, thatkindofsuccessdoesn’texciteme. Thethingthat I look for issoundkids, thatcango ��osociety,andcontribute,especiallytheloveoftheirfellowman. Thepointisthattheyaregoodsolidcitizens,thatisthemostimportantthing.”statedFr.Naab.�� ThepreviousstatementsseemtobestsummarizethekindofpersonthatFr.Naabis.�� Hehad a very busy schedulewhile inDwight. Hehas been chaplain of theDwightCorrectional center since 1963,workingtheretwodaysoftheweekasateacherandacounselor.Duringhissparetimehetraveledtovarioushospitalstov��tthesick,<lewhisairplane,andplayedgolf.�� Amonghis other duties, hewaspresident of theDwightMinisterialAssociation, vicar of thePontiacVicariate (anyannouncement fromthebishopgoestoFr.Naab,hethenspreadstheannouncement throughout theareato therestof thepastors), he is past president of the Livingston County Mental Health Board, and was an active member in the�Dwightcommunity.�
