Impact Study of Livestock Programme (Conducted by ICM & Intercooperation)

Doorstep breeding service is a unique delivery package with low cost This breeding programme has brought out genetically improved

progeny in respect of phenotypic and productive traits. The analysis shows that the centres performing 1200 AI per year are

close to break even. The team observed that the CBC staff has excellent commitment to and

rapport with farmers. The coordination of BIRD-AP staff with department is providing the

health and extension services on free of cost to the area farmers. The analysis shows that the cost benefit ratio is 1:4.

Impact Study of Tank Rehabilitation (Conducted by CMSS)

Due to the tank renovation, there is a substantial addition of new soil to the fields. This accounts to 53482 tons silt.

An average of 1870 tractor loads with an average of 4114 tons of silt has been applied for the field of 26 farmers.

There is a clear indication of the reduction in the costs of chemical fertilizers.

Average ground water level of 10 farmers during the 2012-13 is 10 feet as compared to 20 feet in 2011-12.

The net increase in yields is about 1 to 1.5 quintals per acre Soil testing results of 40 farmers inferred that there is a trend of

increasing soil organic Carbon due to the application of tank silt. All the 52 farmers have consented that there is a decrease in the number

of irrigations required in a cropping month.
