Father Alejandro Reyes
Members of the Honor Guard from Assembly 3330 St. Michael the
Archangel and Assembly 684, came to Hatch on April 2nd, 2017 to
honor Father Alejandro Reyes. There was a bad mistake made at the
4th Degree Exemplification that was held in Las Cruces in January
and Father Alejandro was turned away at the door because of a mix
up in his 3rd Degree status by the District Master, and was unable to
take his 4th Degree that day. The mistake was made right and the
Honor Guard from both Las Cruces Assembly’s came together today
to present Father Alejandro Reyes with his 4th Degree Certificate and
4th Degree social baldric and label pin. The Certificate was presented
to Father Alejandro by District Marshal Kerry Morley and the Social
Baldric and label pin was presented to him by Faithful Navigator Jim
Glasscock. A speech was made by CCC Rick Medina apologizing to
Father Alejandro by the 4th Degree for the mistake. A dinner was held
afterward sponsored by Assembly 3330 in the Parish Hall for all
Veterans in the Hatch area to honor them for their service to our
country.

Chalice Presentation On March 4th 2017, the Honor Guard was present at the Mass at Santa Rosa de Lima for
the presentation of a Chalice to Rosi Pressler the widow of Sir Knight Donald Pressler who
had passed away earlier. The presentation was done by Faithful Navigator Jim Glasscock.
Tuxedo Junction Last month the Master of the Fourth Degree of New Mexico Richard Favela delivered 12 tuxedoes, five formal
shirts and various accessories to Lamy Hall at 2800 San Mateo St. NW in Albuquerque. The clothing was placed
in a locked store room accessible from the main building hallway. The staff of KofC Insurance General Agent
Mike McCabe in his adjoining office has a key available to unlock the storeroom during weekday business
hours. These donated, pre-owned tuxedoes will be made available, for free, to financially-strapped SK candidates
in need. The FN of the assembly that the candidate is seeking to join shall determine if the candidate qualifies for
the free tuxedo. So if you know of a candidate in need of the help please let Faithful Navigator Jim Glasscock
know and have the candidate get in touch with him before the Exemplification on the 21st of January. Also if you
have any tuxedos or tuxedo accessories to be donated please let Faithful Navigator Jim Glasscock know of it. We
are trying to start our own Tuxedo Junction here in Las Cruces at our Assembly to help those SK candidates that
want to join the 4th Degree but are financially-strapped.

Assembly Pancake Breakfast Fund Raiser
On May 21st the Assembly held a Pancake Breakfast Fund Raiser at Holy Cross Parish to raise funds for the
Assembly. The Ladies sold sweets and the Breakfast was a great success raising $1196.00 for the Assembly
to use to donate to the various Charities and organizations in the Las Cruces area. Thanks to who donated
and helped with this great cause.
Navigator’s Message This has been a very active year for our assembly, and
we have been blessed with 19 new Sir Knights from our
hosting an Exemplification last January. I have been very
fortunate to have had dedicated and supportive officers
these past two fraternal years. My Brother and Sir Knight,
Andy Garcia, has served the assembly as a dedicated Color
Corp Commander, many times putting his health in danger
because of the enduring fall outs and long Corpus Christi
processions. Thank You, Andy, for your service! We have
been blessed with another Sir Knight and PFN, our District
Marshal, Kerry Morley. He has been a huge plus for the
assembly for his knowledge of our protocols, and by laws.
Almost single handed, he is responsible for leading us to
the honored qualification for Star Assembly, and being a
guiding light for me in leading the assembly. Last, and
certainly not least, the assembly would not function without
you members. You ARE the assembly, so God Bless You for
who you are and for what you do for Our Order, and Thank
You for making my two years as your Faithful Navigator a
real joy. Now, we have been blessed with a new leader
with great ideas for making us a leader among the
assemblies in the State. Rick Medina deserves every
member’s support. May God Bless each and every one of
you and your families.
