Task OutlineAs you complete this assessment task you will be demonstrating your skills and knowledge to your Trainer. The Trainer may also observe your practical skills and techniques and ask you questions. Ensure in your work practices that you work safely and efficiently, check that equipment is ready for use and work with others to improve work practices.
Part A: Written work1. Complete a Safe Work Method Statement for this task. This will recognise potential risks and
state required control methods that must be implemented to avoid potential incidents.

Part B: Practical workConstruct a Jewellery Box including 2 different joints.
STEPS IN CONSTRUCTION
Select material for the Jewellery as per cutting list.
Cut material for the Jewellery Box to size according to the plan specifications.
Construct rebate joints in the sides as per plans.
Glue using PVA and clamp carcass together.
Rebate bottom to allow for fitting of the ply base.
Glue using PVA and clamp top on.
Drill through rebate joints and dowel sides.
Mark out and shape lid.
Cut lid off.
Fit hinges and catch.
Finnish as desired

While sanding a piece of timber, your workmates sleeve has become caught in the Disk dragging his hand into the machine. The sleeve is wedged between the disk and the fence holding his hand against the moving sanding disk.
