Graphic #1 Modified
Modification Steps #1
• First I created a canvas in Gimp sized 680 X 444 px to accommodate a two-page image of the notebook.
• I copied and pasted the image on the right hand side of the canvas.
• I flipped the original image horizontally and placed it on the left hand side of the canvas.
• I used the text tool in Gimp to create the definition of “tragedy.”• I merged the layers.• I placed a hand-drawn mnemonic for “tragedy” on the left and
made it transparent so the notebook lines showed through.• I merged the layers again so that I could save the image as a JPG.
Presentation Needs #1
• This graphic meets my needs in that it gives a clear example of an interactive notebook in action.
• It is also a realistic depiction of a student notebook, which will add interest to the presentation.
Graphic #2 Modified
Modification Steps #2
• I used iPhoto to crop the image to delete part of the graphic I didn’t need.
• I used the Enhance tool in iPhoto to brighten the image.
• I used the Effects tool to fade the color until I felt the text stood out a little better.
Presentation Needs #2
• This graphic image is clearer and easier to read than the original, which makes it more suitable for a presentation.
• This modified graphic eliminates some of the areas of the map that are not part of my focus for the presentation, which could help cut distraction.
Modified Graphic #4
LukeSkywalker
Modification Steps #4
• I cropped the image’s edges using iPhoto.• I embedded the image in Power Point and
used the drop shadow rectangle effect to create depth.
• I added the character’s name by creating a text box.
Presentation Needs #4
• The image size will now fit in a presentation with bulleted text along the side if I change the slide layout.
• The character’s name is now identified to help students associate this character’s name with his image.
