In association with Department of Ayurveda, Central Province, a Seminar on 'Yoga & its relations with Veda, Sanskrit and Ayurveda/Traditional Medicines in India and Sri Lanka' was organised at Bhartiya Kala Kendra Auditorium. Mr. Bandula S.B. Yalegama, Hon'ble Minister of Health, Central Province was the Chief Guest of the programme. Swami Karthik Chaitanya, of Chinmaya Mission, Kandy spoke on 'what is Yoga and why Yoga? A Lecture Demonstration on Yogic Asanas was conducted by Dr. Palitha Jayaneththi and Ms. Chamila. Lecture on ‘Veda, Sanskrit and Yoga and its connection with Traditional medicine of Sri Lanka was delivered by Prof. H.M. D.R. Herath, Professor of Sociology, University of Peradeniya.

In association with Sethsada Yoga the next

yoga event was at Postal Auditorium in

Kegalle. Dr. Chamin Warnakula one of the

Gurus who introduced Yoga to Sri Lanka

conducted the camp. The programme lasted

for 3 hours and was attended by nearly 200

people

Our Mega IDY 2017 event, in association with Central Provincial Council, was the Yoga Camp at Provincial Sports Complex, Digana (Central Province, Sri Lanka) on 20th June 2017.

Hon'ble Governor of Central Province Mrs. Niluka Ekanayake and Hon'ble Chief Minister of Central Province Mr. Sarath Ekanayake were the Chief Guests of the event. Member of Central Provincial Council Mrs. Shanthini Kongahage and other dignitaries graced the occasion. 2,500 students of Schools of Central Province and around 500 Government officials, members of all the three armed Forces and general public participated in Camp and practiced various Yoga Asanas.

Force participated with great enthusiasm. Brahma

Event No. 10 – was the Yoga Camp at Nalathanni Tamil Maha Vidyalaya (Estate area of Central Province)

Continuing with the celebration of 3rd IDY 2017, a Yoga Camp was held at Kandy City

Centre. Large participation from Mowbray College made the event a grand success.

Event No. 11 In association with North Western Provincial Council, a Yoga Camp was held at Welagadera Stadium, Kurunegala. Governor of North Western Province Mrs. Amara Piyasilee Ratnayake was the Chief Guest of the Event. Hon'ble Minister of Health of NWP Mr. Lakshman Wendaruwa and Chief Secretary Mr. P.B.M. Sirisena graced the occasion. Local Yoga Guru Leelanand Wickramarachchi conducted the Camp.

a Yoga Camp at Ragala Tamil Vidyalaya, Nuwara Eliya

Event No. 14 Community Development Foundation, Ratnapura and CC Tamil Maha vidyalayam,

Balangoda (Sabergamuwa Province), Sri Lanka helped us to bring the goodness of Yoga to the school

children of Balangoda.
