Short-Term Classes

Training for those seeking a new career, or who want to enhance existing skills within a minimal amount of time. Classes are offered part-time during the day, evening, and weekends.

� Classes allow individuals to continue learning, take accredited classes, achieve industry credentials, and gain college credit, while also managing a busy lifestyle. Many classes may be taken in sequence to build a career path.

� Students in our Short-Term Classes range from 16 years of age to seasoned adult.

� Instructors are employed based on education, related work experience, and industry certifications.

Career Majors (Categorized by Career Fields)In-depth instruction to prepare students for a career in nearly 70 career majors in 31 career fields. Most Career Majors are offered Monday-Friday and provide both full-time and part-time scheduling options for students.

� Adults enrolled full-time typically finish a career major within one year, while high school students generally attend part-time and complete their major in two school years.

� Most Career Majors are eligible for adult students to apply for financial aid. For more information visit the Financial Aid - Grants & Scholarships page under the Enrollment heading at www.mntechnology.com.

� An advisement session with either a Career Advisor or Tech Rep is required prior to applying for all Career Majors.

Continuing Education (CEU) Professional development classes designed to help learners maintain professional credentials.

Private Security CLEETCLEET Testing is Available at Franklin Road and South Penn CampusesPrivate Security Guard Phase I, II, & IIIPrivate Security Guard Phase I is required for all security guard license applicants. Instruction is provided in writing reports, responding to fire emergencies, first aid applications, and provisions of the Oklahoma Security Guard and Private Investigator Act. This course is designed to prepare you for the State of Oklahoma examination for armed and unarmed private security licensure. Phase I also constitutes partial fulfillment of Private Investigator licensure.

Private Security Guard Phase II  is required for all armed and unarmed security guard license applicants. Instruction is provided in good public relations skills, performing patrol duties, working fixed-post assignments, and investigating security incidents.

During Phase  III of the Private Security Guard training, students learn the basic duties and tasks of private investigators. Topics covered include, responsibilities to clients, law of private investigations, Fair Credit Reporting Act, conducting investigations, surveillance, and locating and communicating information.

Our Computer FlexTrack courses are in a self-paced, individualized format that meet the needs of busy adult students. The Computer FlexTrack courses offer self-paced learning and flexible scheduling. Students may even do some of their work from home. Our classes incorporate real life projects using self-paced books with step-by-step instructions. Texts contain extra practice exercises and repetition to facilitate learning. Students can earn college credit for some classes. Learn about standard shooting modes, image quality, and image size, white balance, ISO, shutter speed and aperture settings, exposure metering modes, exposure compensation, media card formatting, and focusing—both auto and manual focusing. Learn the use of shutter speed and aperture settings to achieve a proper exposure and use the camera’s histogram feature to evaluate photographs as they are made. Camera equipment and lighting will be discussed as well as what makes photographs interesting. A brief overview of photo-editing techniques is also covered. The class will meet one session at a local place of interest to practice making use of what has been learned in class and to ask questions of the instructor regarding issues and difficulties encountered in the field. Owners of point and shoot cameras, which may not have all the features that will be covered in class, are welcome to take the class, but should probably talk with the instructor, before or at the first class, about how they can best benefit from the instruction. All students should bring their camera manuals with them to the first couple of classes.

Fees and TuitionStudents who reside within MNTC’s district will pay in-district tuition. All other adult students will pay out of district tuition. There may be additional cost for books, fees and supplies. Tuition is due prior to the start of class. Tuition is subject to change based on ODCTE approved Career Major hours. Refund PolicyAny tuition paid for enrollment for a Career Major will be refunded in full if notice is given prior to the scheduled beginning date of instruction, or if a student withdraws during the first ten days of instruction. After ten days of instruction, no refund of tuition or fees will be made.

Non-attendance does not constitute withdrawal from a program. No refund will be made for insurance purchased in the student’s name. Books, tools, and materials may be eligible for refund if the books and supplies are in “like new” condition, unopened, unmarked and undamaged, provided the materials are returned at the same time as the request for withdrawal.

The fees for licensing or certification examinations will be refunded if the student withdraws prior to registering for and scheduling the exam.

Course CancellationMoore Norman Technology Center reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment or a complication beyond our control. A full refund will be processed. Low enrollment courses may meet the first class meeting to determine actual number of enrollees. Moore Norman also reserves the right to change dates and times published.

Course Reciprocity AgreementMNTC will allow any student who currently resides within a district served by an Oklahoma Technology Center to attend our short-term, open enrollment classes at the rates as advertised in our course catalog. Any student who lives within a district that is not served by an Oklahoma Technology Center will be charged a rate of twice the advertised price in our course catalog.

Refund Policy � Workshops and seminars-no refund

after start of class. Prior to start, full refund less a $5 processing fee.

� 20-week FlexTrack classes within 2 weeks of enrollment date/4-week FlexTrack classes within 2 days of enrollment date, full refund less $5 processing fee.

� Other Classes-prior to second class meeting, full refund less a $5 processing fee. After second class meeting, no refund.

� Books and supplies may not be eligible for refund.

� Please allow 2 weeks for refund processing. � MNTC Online-Students are responsible for

1. No food or drinks are allowed at any time in the Computer Labs or Health Classrooms.

2. Students are not to bring their children or pets to the school.

3. No weapons, firearms, or other destructive devices are allowed in school buildings.

4. Effective July 1, 2013 MNTC campuses will be tobacco free.

College CreditStudents must complete the required documents and co-enroll for college credit through the Cooperative Alliance Agreement with Oklahoma City Community College; Rose State College or Oklahoma State University, Oklahoma City within the first few weeks of the course in order to be eligible for college credit. If for any reason the student does not complete the required documents and co-enroll within this time frame, college credit through the cooperative credit program will no longer be available for that semester. Certification and LicensureSeveral occupations require certification or licensure which may be denied if a felony record exists. If this is a concern, please discuss with a Career Advisor.

Inclement Weather Class CancellationClass cancellation or school closing shall be reported to selected radio and television stations in the OKC metro area at or before 6:00 a.m. for daytime classes and at or before 4:00 p.m. for evening classes. Pediatric First Aid and CPRThe Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for child care workers in all 50 United States. It teaches child care providers and others to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.

The course covers the four steps of first aid and first aid skills such as:

� Finding the Problem. � Stopping Bleeding and Bandaging. � Using an Epinephrine Pen. � Child CPR AED and Infant CPR. � Optional modules in Adult CPR AED, Child Mask, Infant Mask and Asthma Care Training for Child Care Providers.
