Jesus, The Reason for Every Season
The central character of the Bible is Jesus, and the Bible tells His story. What the
Author, God, wants us to understand is that knowing Jesus tells us who God really
is.
In John 1:18, we read, “No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son,
who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.” What God is telling us
about Jesus is that He is the only one who has intimately known the Father, that is,
really comprehended God and His glory. That is the significance o the expression,
“who is in the bosom of the Father.” Jesus is intimate with God because He is the
son of God, God in the flesh. This means that Jesus is in the perfect person to tell
us who God is so that we can come to know Him better. When we come to know
who God is, that means that we can also know something about ourselves, because
we were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). This is why John writes in
John 20:30-31, “And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His
disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may
believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life
in His name.”
God bless you and I love you.
