Sew Free Bonding garment Finishes

Listed below are some methods of bonding garments Hemming Method

1. Apply film to the edge of the garment on right hand knife machine, trimming the fabric edge level with the adhesive edge.

Machine = AT720K

2. Turn the edge over

Machine = AT720 Edge of fabric completely level with adhesive No adhesive showing Easy to apply Two step operation Binding Method Bonded binding is much the same as sewing binding, the only extra consideration is pre applying the adhesive to the binding, unless you use a pre-coated binding such as Bondilast available from Stretchline ltd.

1. Apply film to the binding using the AT720 machine

Machine = AT720

2. Move to AT720B binding machine with pre heater 3. Bind as per sewing

Machine = AT720B

Machine = AT720B with metering system Tension can be applied by metering the binding Binding can be self fabric or elastic Pre-coating required

Lay on edge finishing Method Lay on edge finishing, gives a sleek clean look to any garment; using Pre applied adhesive on strip cut fabric or elastic

1. Apply fabric to the edge of the garment on right hand knife machine, trimming the fabric edge level with the garment edge.

Machine = AT720K Knife machine Clean look Binding can be self or contrast fabric Top edge trimmed completely level Pre-coated fabric or elastic required Lay on a stripe Method Lay on finishing, gives a sleek clean look to any garment; using Pre applied adhesive on strip cut fabric with adhesive film applied or dot-coated fabric.

Apply pre coated self colour or contrast fabric to the garment.

Machine = AT720 machine Clean look Can be self or contrast fabric Can be applied inside the garment, leaving the outside untouched Pre-coated fabric required Y Fold Elastic Edge Y Fold Elastic gives a sleek clean look to any garment; using specially made elastic with a v shaped pre-coated pocket to insert the garment edge into and bond together.

Decorative Edge Elastic Decorative Edge Elastic gives a soft look to any garment; using specially made elastic pre-coated on one side and a frilly soft edge on the other. This can be attached to either the inside or the outside of the garment giving two distinct looks.
