District 12 Shooting Sports Postal League Contest
The Event will include Smallbore Rifle, Shotgun, Archery, and Small-
bore Pistol. The term “Postal” refers to this event taking place locally
within your area. Registration for these events will be administered
through 4-H Connect. Select the “D12 4-H Shooting Sports Postal
League” event. Registration opens on February 1, 2019 and will close
on February 22, 2019. Cost for registration is a base fee of $5.00 and
each event will be $10. Anyone looking to participate in this contest
must complete a safety orientation prior to competition.
Atascosa County Livestock Show Barn Cleanup
Saturday February 2, 2019 8:00 AM
Any livestock exhibitor that participated in the show
is required to help at the barn clean up.
Atascosa 4-H Club Info 4-H is a “learn by doing” youth education program for children 9 to 19. It
promotes positive values, social responsibility, and lifelong learning. An
af iliated program, Clover Kids, is available in some areas for children 5 to 7
(K to 2). Through 4-H and the opportunities it provides, 4-H members have
the ability to participate in many events and activities, as well as apply for

Madison County 4-H Whiz Bang March 2nd—3rd 2019
Registration for the event will include a Novice Class and Junior/Intermediate/Senior 1/
Senior ll Classes. Registration and payments will be through IClays. This shoot will be lim-
ited to 20 Novice Shooters, 60 Junior/Intermediate shooters, and 80 Senior l/Senior ll
Shooters. Check in will begin at 7:30am. Events begin at 8:30am at Madison County Gun
and Archery Club in Madisonville, Texas.

4-H Rifle Project Orientation
Rifle orientation will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 2:00pm at the Meyer Range located at 95
Co Rd 321, Jourdanton, TX 78026. It is not too late to join a 4-H club and participate in the shooting
sports project. Registration with Texas 4-H is required and open on 4 -H Connect. The state participa-
tion fee is currently $25. This fee does NOT include supplies or contests. When enrolling on 4-H Con-
nect, make sure and check both Shooting Sports and a primary club on the list. In order to participate
in the shooting sports pro-gram, members must meet the 50% attendance requirement prior to any 4-H
sponsored contests. Shooters must attend a MANDATORY safety orientation.

March 9—10, 2019 at the Guadalupe County Extension Office Disciplines being offered: Archery, Muzzle loading, Pistol, Riffle, & Shotgun
Registration open: February 11-25, 2019 on 4-H Connect
Cost: $120 (includes meals and course materials)
All volunteers must go through volunteer screening and be an active volunteer before registering for the
event.

County Photos are due February 19, 2019. Start snapping away
now if you haven’t already. First place winners from each Pho-
tography category in the Junior, Intermediate, and Senior level is
eligible to participate in the District 12 Photography Contest, and

National 4-H Photography Summit
Washington DC, February 28– March 3, 2019
Join the Texas 4-H Delegation on a photography adventure to our nation’s Capital. You will stay at the 4-H Conference Center in Chevy Chase, MD and registration fee covers all instruction, hands-on activities, tours, accommodations, meals, and transportation in DC. Delegates will learn about photography ca-

name, age, county, and club name.
Entry Rules:
Must be a 4-H Member
You can use 2 colors in additions to the color of the shirt. (If design calls for red, white, and blue red or blue should be the color of the shirt)
The color of the shirt cannot be white
The design should fit on the front side of the T-
Shirt
Simple designs are more effective and easier to screen print.
Design will have to be modified slightly to in-clude the proper clover logo and to clean up de-tails
You must love dogs.

Pleasanton High School Student Kacie Shannon attended a livestock show
where she saw they had a show for children with special needs. As an aide in
the life skills class room she saw an opportunity for the Atascosa County Live-
stock Show to make a connection with those students. She started the Atas-
cosa County Livestock Show Barn Buddies show. She was able to make this
show a success with help from her co-chair was Kendall Niemietz and they
had help from volunteers from the 4-H Ambassadors and other organizations.
