TAC: Changes - goals
Reduce the load on TAC members to about 15 – 20 proposals per semester
Increase the range of scientific expertise
Involve overseas users in the TAC process
Establish TAC process that is scalable
Aim to start new process for 2009APRS
TAC: Proposed changes (not finalised)Proposals reviewed by about six sub-panels, each with 3 or 4 members.
Each sub-panel has leader in Australia
All panel members access proposals through OPAL
Panels set up primarily by topic area
Panel leaders collate and merge comments for their subset of proposals
Panel leaders and TAC Chair meet to briefly review all proposals
ATNF provides TAC administration and meeting coordination
ATOA Update•ATCA data loaded to 10 Feb 2008
•Now loading ATCA data (from tapes) to end-April 2008
•MOPS data now available for May – 26 Nov 2006 (same interface)
Next stages:
•Load MOPS data to mid-July 2007 (data files already in Marsfield)
•ATCA data streaming from Narrabri to Marsfield with ‘continuous’ loading
•ATOA upgrades for CABB
•Continue with MOPS transfer & loading
•ATOA upgrades for VLBI
