(ats4-dev06) building morphit binders within symyx notebook
DESCRIPTION
The release of the Accelrys Morphit Section for Symyx Notebook enables the use of Morphit Binders (multi-dimensional spreadsheets) within your ELN environment. This is a “how to” session on making a Morphit Binder available within Notebook, including mapping binder metadata to SN properties and mapping binder data/tables to SN properties to make this data available for searching and reporting within the Notebook.TRANSCRIPT

Agenda
• What is the Morphit Section?
• Morphit integration with Accelrys ELN
• Demo: Connecting a Morphit binder to Accelrys ELN properties

What is Morphit?
A multi-dimensional spreadsheet that provides an flexible and robust analysis and templating environment
• Familiar
• Flexible templates
• Relational
• Change tracking
![Page 5: (ATS4-DEV06) Building Morphit Binders within Symyx Notebook](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022052315/5562d834d8b42a63498b5121/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
Morphit Terms and Definitions
• Design Mode: allows user to create Morphit binder
• Binder: a Morphit data file • Workbook: (multiple) held within a binder
– Sheet: like the classic MS Excel sheet, held in workbooks – Table: a spreadsheet page with an explicitly defined hierarchical structure
• Header: nameable headers of Fields are similar to the “Columns” of Excel
• Linking: matching values of the source Field can be accessed • Borrowing: take all the values from one Field and insert into
another Field in a new Table
![Page 6: (ATS4-DEV06) Building Morphit Binders within Symyx Notebook](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022052315/5562d834d8b42a63498b5121/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
• Morphit – Audit Trails – Authorisation (Author vs. User modes) – Morphit Render
• Mapping to PSD – Tables – Forms – Direct (document indexing)
• Content Management – Electronic signatures – Versioning – Printing, PDF output
Integration to Accelrys ELN
![Page 7: (ATS4-DEV06) Building Morphit Binders within Symyx Notebook](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022052315/5562d834d8b42a63498b5121/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
• All ELN users can view Morphit binder data
• An additional license is required to edit/create Morphit data
• Morphit binders can be connected to Acclerys ELN PSDs for indexing and reporting – Binder metadata – Binder table data
• Morphit binder is saved with the document
• Reporting – Template author selects Morphit
tables/worksheets that are available for reporting

• Add Morphit section to Notebook Template
• Import Morphit binder into Morphit section
• Click Configure Section icon
• Select Notebook property sets that should be available to the binder for indexing

Mapping Notebook Sections
• The following Notebook sections can be mapped for data transfer with the Morphit section – Form sections with data of the following Notebook widget types:
• Checkbox • Combo Box • List Box • Textbox of the types Date, Integer, Real (Double), and Text (String)
– Table sections that are not of the “Master-Detail” type, which include: • Generic “Table” sections • Equipment sections • Any Materials sections that do not contain multiple sub-lots for a single material
• Mappings are between the property set definitions (PSDs) used by the Notebook section
to fields in a Morphit table – Supported property class types are String, Integer, Long Integer, Decimal, Double, Boolean,
DateTimeOffset, Value, Structure and MolecularFormula

Mapping Limitations
• A Morphit table may be mapped to only one Notebook section – Tip: Morphit linking and borrowing features can be used to bypass this limitation
• A Notebook section may be mapped to more than one Morphit tables
• Data mapping is unidirectional – a single Morphit field cannot receive from and return data to Notebook
• Sending data to Morphit – Data can only be sent to top level formula fields in a Morphit table – Tables containing top-level borrowed fields may not receive data from Notebook
• Returning data from Morphit
– Only indexable properties can be mapped – Only the following Morphit data types can be returned: Formula, Hyperlink, Drop Down, Check Box,
Date/Time

Mapping notes
• When mapping table sections to a Morphit table, hidden fields are used to track rows between the applications
– Thus, the application will be able to manage addition and removal of rows from either application
• When mapping a form section to a Morphit table, a single row is created in the Morphit table
– Any additional rows are deleted
