Evaluation of my magazine

How did I attract/address my audience?

• A bright blue colour for my title font this was to show youth and attract my young audience. Also the colour was easily visible against the background of the magazine.

My brightly coloured font is clearly visible

and exiting

How did I attract/address my audience?

• I used the name Teen T!mes as it clearly states that the magazine is aimed at teenagers. I also replaced a regular ‘I’ with an exclamation mark as it looks younger and more slang and up to date. It shows that the teens reading this magazine are into keeping trends and new ways of texting and social networking

Using an exclamation mark instead of an ‘I’ gives the title a more

edgy look

How did I attract/address my audience?

• For the font of my masthead I used the font ‘impact’ I chose this as it is easy to read but at the same time looks more modern and interesting than just a plain font such as ‘times new roman’ I also made it quite large as it is the masthead and it has to stand out and be able to attract people’s attention from a shelf full of other magazines or define it from a page

How did I attract/address my audience?

• As my cover star i used zeeke. He was stood against a tree on the college grounds, with a smile on his face showing that college is a happy place to be and that generally students are happy. He is wearing just a plain black top so it doesn't suggest anything or split views. E.g. If he was wearing a top with a band name on it, it may say to the audience that the magazine is for certain types of people and people who like this particular band. He is standing with his arms folded, which shows he is happy and confident. It also shows that he is cool and understands college trends.

Zeeke looks like a typical happy, cool

college student

How did I attract/address my audience?

• As well as the font and colour used in my masthead i used many other colours and fonts over my front cover. For example, i used ‘Tekton pro’, ‘rockwell extra bold’, ‘ms reference sans serif’ and ‘showcard gothic’ as they looked easy to read and were also interesting to the audience rather than just one font, the number of contrasts in fonts keeps the reader interested and shows difference and change.

How did I attract/address my audience?

• I used these fonts in a variety of colours ranging from purple, pink, red to orange and even to turquoise and white. These colours were not only easy to read against the background but they also, again showed variety and made a change and breaks up the large amounts of writings o the cover, they keep the reader on their toes.

How did I attract/address my audience?

• My target audience was mainly for teenage girls. This would explain why my inside stories are about such things as;– College trends– Campus gossip – This seasons fashion, from the textile students– And interviews where students at WSFC tell Teen T!mes why they’re glad they chose to study what they did. These kind of stories are what you would expect to find in

womens/girls magazines normally, therefore these sort of stories should attract those teen girls who like to be in the know

technology

• New technology helped me achieve my task as photoshop made it possible to crop my images to create ‘short’ and ‘close-up’ shots. They also stayed un-distorted as photoshop allows me to use the image full size without ruining the quality; maintaining the good quality made the image and cover look more professional. Aswell as using photoshop I used a camera to take my pictures and later upload them to my files ready to be edited.
