A Note from Pastor Phillips:

Thank you for coming to worship with us today. If you are first-time visitor, I would sure like the opportunity to meet you and wel-come you personally. Because I believe in a Sovereign God, I don’t be-lieve anything happens by chance. I believe you were brought here today for a purpose. I would love to help you discover that purpose, and to see if there is any way we as a church can bless and minister to you and your family. Please stop by the Resource Center after the service so I can shake your hand. I’d sure count it a privilege. Pastor Harold

BUSINESS MEETING: Our next business meeting is next Sunday, August 19 at 6:00 p.m. Please try to attend to stay informed.

SUPER SUNDAE SUNDAY: Sunday, Aug. 26 will be Super Sundae Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in the Youth Center for children who just completed K-6th grade in June. If you volunteered for VBS and would be available to help, please see Sandy Goins. Thank you!

BAPTISM CHANGE: We are excited to announce that we have begun per-forming baptisms during our 10:30 a.m. worship service. As a result, to allow our Jr. Church children to witness these public proclamations of faith, Jr. Church will begin their service in the main Sanctuary the first Sunday of each month. After the baptisms are completed, Jr. Church helpers will escort the children to the Jr. Church area to continue their service.

THANK YOU! A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who donated cookies & bread, volunteered to prep the meal, and volunteered to serve the meal at the Paris Foundation. The meal was a success and homeless were grate-ful. Thank you for being HIS hands and feet! May the LORD bless you! Randall and Robin

LADIES’ BIBLE STUDY BEGINNING THIS SEPTEMBER: Ladies (and teen-age girls), you are invited to attend an eight-week Bible study using the book authored by Priscilla Shirer (daughter of Tony Evans). Danielle Bane will facili-tate the study. There will be a video presentation each week to be used in con-junction with a book and study guide (available at Lifeway Christian store or Amazon.com). The study will begin Monday, September 10 and will run from 6 to 8 p.m. in room 114. If you have questions, please see Danielle Bane.

CHILDREN’S CHOIRS: Salt Shakers & Little Lights resume Wed., Sept. 5.

ECUADOR TEAM: Please continue to pray for our Ecuador team on their mis-sion trip over the next two weeks. Thank you!

Thank you for joining us today for worship. Your presence was a blessing.

If you are interested in learning about church membership, we have a “First Steps” class which meets in room 122 at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday. It’s a great place to start!

If there is any way that our church can as-sist you or your family, please contact the office at 410-378-4476.

We pray that you have been blessed, and have found that coming to Pleasant View

Baptist Church is truly . . . like coming home.

Pleasant View Baptist Church is a smoke-free campus. We encourage you to re-frain from smoking while on the premis-es. If you must smoke while here, please do so in your car. If you have any ques-tions, please ask one of our Pastors.

OFFICE HOURS: Our office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Requests and questions received via e-mail and phone messages after close of business Thursday after-noon will be addressed as soon as possible upon our return to the office. It’s our privilege to serve our Church family. Thank you!

PRAYER FOR AMBER

The Stewart Family shared with us last Sunday about the current medical concerns facing Amber. Many of us are lifting them in prayer. If you are willing to commit to praying for Amber as part of an around-the-clock prayer vigil, please sign up out in the hall near the restrooms. Sign-up time will be by hour blocks. We ask that sometime during that hour you would lift Am-ber Stewart up to the Father’s throne for healing and mercy. (Of course, you can pray for the entire hour if you choose to do so.) As members of the church body, we desire to carry each other’s burdens. Thank you for your love for the family of God!!

Thursday, August 23 - 6:00 p.m. - Youth Nerf Night! Saturday, Sept. 15 - 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. - Pool Party @

Robin King’s house

Agape Clothing Ministry helps provide small household items to those in need. Anita Cox coordinates the ministry. If you know someone in need or want to donate something, call Anita at 443-731-1956. If you have a large donation (more than one bag), please contact Anita direct-ly to avoid filling up the coat closet area. Thank you!

AWANA Clubs! Clubs for children age 2 through 6th grade will begin Wednes-day, September 5. We are excited to continue AWANA as the program this year. This interactive program incorporates mu-sic, play time, bible teaching and notebook journaling to help children absorb and apply the biblical truth they learn. The START TIME will be 5:45 in room 117 for choir, followed by pro-gram opening time in the Youth Center at 6:30 p.m. We have a sign-up table in the hallway opposite the restrooms to register your children now!

Our nursery is such a critical ministry of PVBC! It allows parents of young children to have uninterrupted worship with the confidence that their children are being provided with loving care.

The toys in the nursery get quite a bit of use, and many are worn out. To help update our toys, we are holding a “Nursery Shower!” If you would like to donate a new toy to the nursery for ages 18 months to 3 years, please give the toy to Wendy Falko or put it in the coat closet with her name on it. She will put it in the correct room. Thank you!

PLEASE, NO STUFFED TOYS OR DOLLS WITH HAIR.

Our public servants and first responders are facing more dangerous and uncertain times in their occupations these days. While we watch the news and shake our heads at the senseless acts of those who seemingly care only about making headlines, our men and women are out there on the front lines, putting themselves between us and danger.

Please pray for those in our church and church family members who are serving as police officers, firefighters and emergency medi-cal technicians. To add a name to this prayer list, please call the of-fice so we can support him/her in prayer. Thank you.
