Tau-p Domain
Tau is the intercept and p is slowness (inverse velocity)Tau-p Domain Deconvolution
Tau-p deconvolution techniques can be used to attenuate relatively short period multiples. The timedomain multiples of "1A" have increasingly poorer temporal periodicity with increasing offset (the eventsare converging at the far offsets so they are not periodic!). Display "1B" is the tau-p transform of "1A". Inthe tau-p domain the multiple energy is periodic - although the period reduces with increasing slowness.Display "1C" is produced by applying deconvolution in the tau-p domain and then applying an inversetau-p transform to get back to the X-t domain.
Multiple Attenuation using the Parabolic Transform
The FOCUS routine PRADMUS allows discrimination based on curvature rather thandip. This gives better separation of the primary and multiple events as shown in panel" ".dataset 2C.
