endeavor to give to our students something new and

Letter’ and I am sure it will receive your

This News Letter gives a bird’s eye view

Anti- Ragging Mission
The College Anti-ragging Committee and Anti-ragging Squad were established in the
academic year 2010-11. The College has a Mentoring Cell, Healthy interaction Committee, and a
Students Co-ordination Committee for the prevention of Ragging at the
College. In the year 2011 - 12 for the compliance of UGC Regulations
on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions,
2009, an Anti – Ragging video show was organised on August 3, 2011.
Prior to that on the eve of the Foundation Day and Fresher‟s Day
function, on August 1, 2011 the students were made aware of Anti – Ragging Mission of the
institution by Prof. S. N. Morey.
The „Parents – Teachers – Counsellor – Freshers Meet‟ was organised on September 20,
2011. Mr. Sandeep Jadhav (Dy. S. P. Aurangabad) and Prof. Dr. Padhye
(Educational Psychologist and Professor, Government College, Aurangabad)
provided guidance on „The issue of ragging and role of parents and teachers in
the anti-ragging mission‟, and „The effects of ragging on personality of
students and remedies thereon‟ respectively.
Memorandum of Understanding with National Law School of India University, Bangalore
On 27th
August, the College entered MOU with National Law School India University for
teacher and student exchange. Under the MOU, Dr V S Mallar, M. K.
Nambiar, Chairperson, Constitutional Law of National Law School of
India University, Bengaluru (NLSIU) delivered
a lecture on the Relationship between
Fundamental Rights & Directive Principle of
State Policy on 24th January 2012. On 27th
February 2012, Prof. Dr. V Nagaraj, Registrar of National Law School of
India University, Bengaluru (NLSIU) delivered a lecture on Mediation & Negotiation.
Automation of Library
The automation of library was inaugurated on 27th
August 2011,
at the auspicious hands of Honourable Justice V.R. Kingaonkar, Retired
Judge Bombay High Court, Member of National Consumer Disputes
Redressal Commission, New Delhi.

National Seminar on Emerging Trends in Consumerism in India
Under the sponsorship of the Centre for Consumer Studies of
the Indian Institute of public Administration, New Delhi, a two day
National Seminar on “Emerging Trends in Consumerism in India” was
held on 27th and 28th of August 2011 on the sub themes - Green
Consumerism, Consumerism and Advertisement,
Consumerism and Medical Profession, Consumerism and Legal Profession. The
Seminar was inaugurated by Honorable Justice P. V. Reddi,
Chairman Law Commission of India. Honourable Justice V R Kingaonkar,
Member of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission was the Guest
of Honour. Honourable Prof. (Dr.) R Venkat Rao, Vice Chancellor, National Law School of
India University, Bangalore delivered the key note address. Resource Persons and Delegates
from all over India participated in the Programme. Around 50 delegates presented their papers on
the sub themes of the Seminar.
Honourable Justice S. B. Mhase, President, Maharashtra State Consumer
Disputes Redressal Commission, Mumbai delivered the Valedictory address.
Honourable Dr. Vijay Pandharipande, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar
Marathawada University, Aurangabad Chaired the Session and Dr. B. H. Choudhary,
Dean Faculty of Law, Dr. BAMU, Aurangabad was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Suresh
Mishra, Centre for Consumer Studies, addressed the gathering and expressed his satisfaction
about the conduct of the seminar.
Three Days Training Programme for Capacity Building for Researchers in
Consumer Protection and Consumer Welfare
Under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs,
Food and Public Distribution and in collaboration with the Centre
for Consumer Studies of the IIPA, New Delhi the above
programme was organised by M P Law College that attracted 50
participants from all over Maharashtra. Importance of Research

was emphasized, Research Methodology was taught and an effort was made to sensitize the
participants and develop concern towards the needs and welfare of the Consumers.
Lectures on various subjects affecting the consumers was delivered during this three
day programme. Dr S. Gavhane inaugurated this Programme while Dr Fayyaz, Joint Director
Higher Education was the Guest of Honour. Dr D Ukey, Pro Vice Chancellor of SRTMU
Nanded was the chief Guest at the Valedictory function while Dr B H Chaudhari was the Guest
of Honour.
Research Club Activities
On 3rd September 2011 the 1st inaugural lecture by Prof. Sudhir
Gavane, Dept. of Mass Communication and Journalism, Dr. B.A.M. University,
Aurangabad was arranged on „Recent trends and opportunities in Legal Research.‟ He
emphasized on the need of international collaborative research.
On 16th Sept. 2011 Workshop on „Role of Advocates in Protecting Human Rights‟
was arranged. Along with 209 student members of Research Club, students from
M. P. Law College, Ambedkar Law College, V. N. Patil Law College and Dept. of P.G.
Studies of Law, Dr. B.A. M. University attended this workshop. Adv. Asim Sarode and
Adv. Rama Sarode from HRLD organization based at Pune
were invited to guide participants. One documentary on
Human Rights issue was shown which was followed by open
discussion. Research Club of the College organized a Two
Days Training Programme on “Capacity Building for Researchers” for the Research Club
members of the College in the month of December 2011. Approximately180 students
participated in this training programme.
First Commemorative Lecture
The first Commemorative Lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Lakshminath,
Vice Chancellor, Chanakya National Law University, Patna on the subject
‘Judicial Activism’ on 24th
September 2011.
State Level Debate Competition
On the same day the College organised the 6th
State Level Debate Competition which
was inaugurated by Honourable Justice Shri A. Nirgude, Judge Bombay High Court Bench at

Aurangabad. The function was presided over by Adv. Shri S D
Deshpande, Vice President, M.L. & G.E. Society, Aurangabad. 22
teams from all over the State with 44 participants debated on the
topic “Whether the standing of the
Government or Civil Society is correct on
Lokpal Bill?”
Honourable Shri Chandrakant Khaire,Member of Parliament,
Aurangabad distributed the prizes. Adv. Shri Sudhakarrao Avhad was the Guest of Honour. 1st
Team prize was bagged by Shiv Chatrapati College, Aurangabad and runner-up was University
of Pune, Pune. Individual first prize was awarded to Ms. Pathak Manushri Anand, University of
Pune.
Legal Aid and Awareness Programme
In this year the College conducted 12 camps at nearby villages
with the sponsorship of National Legal Services Authority. Street
plays, lectures and poster exhibitions on various socio legal issues
were held in these camps. The Legal Aid
Committee also organised lectures of Honourable Justice P V Hardas, Judge
of Bombay High Court, Bench at
Nagpur on 8th Oct. 2011 on
„Appreciation of Evidence in Criminal Trials.‟ On 29th
Sept. lecture of Adv. Atre was organized on, “Medical
Jurisprudence” evidence. The Committee also organised
two Para legal training camps and also established the Legal Aid Clinic as per the new norms
laid down by NALSA.
Sports News
The year 2011-12
began with Inter Collegiate
events. The College
participated in Basket Ball,
Kho-Kho, Badminton, Rifle
and Air Pistol Shooting, Power Lifting and Swimming.

Badminton team of girls stood third. Ms. Monali Desle represented the University in the
Interuniversity tournament and won silver medal in Kho-Kho. Ms. Yugandhara Bagdare
represented University in the All India Interuniversity Basket Ball Championship for Women,
Mr. Nikhil Dubey in weight lifting tournament at Chandigarh and Mr. Padamsingh Shinde in the
All India Interuniversity swimming tournament held at Kolkata.
National Moot Court Competition
As every year this year too, the College organized the XII
National Moot Court Competition on 18th
& 19th
Feb. 2012. The
Competition attracted 22 teams from all over India. The competitors
presented their arguments before Honourable Justice A .M. Thipsay and
Honourable Justice S G Mutalik. Jamia Milia Islamia University New Delhi bagged the Late Shri
S. A. Deshmukh Trophy & ILS Law College, Pune being declared the runner up with a cash
prize of Rs.7000 and Rs.5000 respectively. The first individual and second individual S A
Deshmukh Trophy went to Mr Sanjay Vashisth of Jamia Milia Islamia University and Ms. Priya
Khanna of ILS Law College with cash prizes respectively. Ms
Parul Jog of V M Salgaocar College of Law was adjudged the
Best Mooter and was awarded the Ghate Foundation Trophy.
Late L N Sirsamkar Trophy was awarded to Mr Sanjay
Vashisth. This event was successfully organised with the help of student volunteers.
National Power Point Presentation Competition
This year the II National Power Point Presentation Competition
was held on 17th
Feb 2012. Around 17 participants from very Law
Colleges in India presented their views effectively through Power point
Presentations. Sakshi Vijay from ILS Law College, Pune bagged the
First prize and Ankita Sancheti of M P Law College and Shweta
Vasudevan of School of Excellence in Law, Chennai were declared the
Runners up.
Law Lecture Series
The following guest lectures were arranged throughout the year:
1. Prof. Dr. K.V.S.Sarma, Registrar NALSAR, Hyderabad spoke on
„Challenges & Career Opportunities in Legal Education‟ on 1st August 2011,

the College Foundation Day.
2. Dr. Y. Pratap Reddy, Associate Professor University College of Law,
Osmania University, Hyderabad delivered lecture on Jurisprudence on 9th
August 2011
3. On 10th August 2011, Dr. S. Dwarkanath, Associate Professor & Principal University
College of Law, Osmania University, Hyderabad gave an overview of the
Criminal Procedure Code.
4. On 11th August 2011, Dr. B. H. Choudhari, Principal, Law College,
Osmanabad , Dean, Faculty of Law, Dr.BAMU, Aurangabad gave an overview
of the Civil Procedure Code.
5. Adv. Mr. Sudhakarrao Avhad, Former Chairman, Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa.
Advocate at Pune, appraised the students on Law of Evidence on 25th August
2011
6. On 16th September 2011, Adv. Mr. Asim Sarode Social Worker at Pune addressed on
Equality and Equal Opportunity enshrined in the Preamble of the Constitution of India
7. From 3rd to 5th Oct‟ 2011, Prof. Ch. Satyanarayana, Asst. Professor. P. R. R.
Law College, Hyderabad spoke on Family Law
8. From 4th to 5th Oct‟ 2011 Prof. D. V. Ramana, Asstt. Professor N.B.M.
College, Vishakhapatnam, (A.P.) enlightened the students on the Law of Criminal
Procedure and on 7th October 2011 on Constitutional Law
9. Prof. Sanjay Jadhav, Asst. Professor Dept. of Law, University of Mumbai, Mumbai
guided the students on General Principles of Contract on 13th Oct. 2011
10. Prof. V. G. Ranganath, Asst. Professor ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad
guided on Civil Procedure Code from 12th to 15th Oct 2011
11. On 25th July & 21st Oct.2011, Mr. Rajendra Deshmukh, Advocate Bombay High Court
guided on Law of Criminal Procedure
12. On 22nd December 2011, Ms. Izumi Wakugawa, Technical Advisor, Japan ASPECT
(Asian Study Centre for Peace & Conflict Transformation), Kathamandu, Nepal
spoke on the Politics in Writing the Constitution of Nepal.
13. On 2nd Jan.& 12th April 2012 Mr. Rajendra Deshmukh Advocate Bombay High Court
guided students on Law of Crimes i.e. Indian Penal Code .

14. Prof S.Subarao, Assistant Professor,AU P.G. Centre, Vijayanagaram delivered lecture on
Political Science on 10th

Visits
This year the College organized visit to Manish Industries and Sudarshan Saur, at MIDC
Waluj, with a view to
study and to observe the
implementation of Labour
and Environmental Laws. The students visited the Land Record Academy and understood the
land measuring techniques like Shankusakhali and ETS etc., Government Medical College
Aurangabad to understand Post mortem, its report and evidentiary value, Family Court, Harsul
Jail etc.
The Students also had an educational tour to the Supreme Court of India and the
Parliament of India. They met Honourable Dr A
P J Abdul Kalam who gave the students an oath
for maintaining honesty, sanctity and integrity in
the profession.
TEACHERS DAY
Teacher‟s day and International Literacy Day was organised at the initiative of the NSS
Unit. Continuing the tradition of this college to
respect and to honor those teachers whose
contribution to the institution is memorable, some of
the old teachers were invited and felicitated on this occasion.
Students Council
The year began with Swati Nakhate being elected unopposed as the General Secretary of
the Students Council. It was inaugurated by Samir
Rajurkar, Corporator, AMC. The Council organized
special lectures throughout the year to celebrate
various occasions as follows:
Mr Sunil Patil delivered a lecture on the life of Swami Vivekananda and Rashtramata
Jijau to inspire the students. Mr Nanasaheb Patil enlightened the students on Indo-
U.S. Nuclear Deal & Cooperation for Satisfying the need of Energy on 5th Jan 2012.

Dr Indrajit Alte, Former Principal Milind College, Aurangabad spoke on Economic Thoughts of
Dr Ambedkar and Contemporary Economic Policies on the eve of Dr Babasaheb
Ambedkar Marathwada University Naam Vistar Din. Mr
Baviskar, Dy. Supdt of Police, Aurangabad spoke on the
life of Shivaji Maharaj and Rashtra Sant Gadgebaba Jayanti. Students
undertook Campus cleaning campaign on this occasion.
Samvidhan Sandesh Rally was organized on 26th
Jan 2012 to give the message of Justice,
Liberty, Equality and fraternity amongst the citizens.
CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
The College registered its enthusiastic participation at the „YOUTHOPIA‟ and the „ZONAL
YOUTH FESTIVAL’.
Annual Social Gathering with the name „UTKARSH’ was efficiently organized
with sports, cultural and other Competitions being
held. The Prize distribution was done at the
auspicious hands of Mr Uttam Singh Pawar,
Former MP. Mr Nikhil Dubey was awarded the Mr MP title and
Ms Sayali Sevekar was awarded the Ms MP title.
Achievements
Supriya C Deshpande stood 3rd
in order of merit at the NLC V exams, Chinmayee Deshpande
stood 4th
while Nikam Bhagwat Eknath stood 4th
in order of merit at the LLB III exams.
The College students also bagged first, second and third in DLL and first and third in the
University DTL exams.
Prof S N Morey received the Best Research Paper Award at the National
Conference held at Saveetha Law School, Chennai.
Prof P.S.Deshmukh appointed as contingent leader for Adventure camp at
Manali,Himachal Pradesh.
Ms Sonia Chillarge received the Best Female Mooter Award at the SS Maniyar
National Moot Court Competition at Jalgaon.
Mr Pradeep Dahiwal received the Best Mooter Award at the Government
Law College Marathi Moot Court Competition at Mumbai.

Ms Neha Kamble was awarded the Best Mooter Award at the State Level Moot
Court Competition organized at Parbhani Law College. The team comprising of
Ms. Neha Kamble, Mitali Vakil and Apeksha Ostwal won the First Team
Prize in this Competition.
The team comprising of Ms. Neha Kamble, Mitali Vakil and Apeksha Ostwal and Harshita
Manglani won the award for Proficiency in Language at the National Moot Court Competition
held at Saveetha Law School, Chennai.
Ms. Ankita Sancheti won the second prize at the II National Power Point
Presentation Competition held at M P Law College, Aurangabad.
Ms Sayali Sevekar won the first prize at the Elocution Competition organized by Vinayakrao
Patil Arts Commerce Science College, Kannad, Swami Ramanad Teerth
Mahavidyalay Abbejogai, and at Rajeshri Shahu Maharaj Elocution Competition
organized by Dr. BAMU, Auranagabad. She also bagged the second prize at the
Kendriya Yuvak Mahaotsav and District level Yuvak Mahaotsav. She also got a consolation
prize at Yeshwantrao Chavhan Pratishthan Mumbai.
Mr Vaibhav Khairnar won the First Prize at the Rao Saheb Patil Tope Debate
Competition organized by Matsyodari Shikshan Sanstha, Jalna and a consolation prize
at the 6th
State Level Debate Competition at M P Law College, Aurangabad.
Sayali Sevekar and Avinash Suryavanshi bagged the First Team prize at the State level
Elocution Competition at Swami Ramanad Teerth Mahavidyalay, Ambejogai.
Ms. Monali Desle represented the University in the Interuniversity tournament and won silver
medal in Kho-Kho.
Ms Swati Nakhate earned the distinction of being selected for the SRD parade and was also
adjudged the Best Volunteer at the Chikhaldara Adventure Camp.
Mahesh Bhosle and Harshal Sonar participated in the Second Parliament of All India Students
Leaders at Pune.
Mr Nikhil Dubey was selected to attend the Training Programme organized by National Human
Rights Commission. His presentation at the NHRC was appreciated by the judges.

Mumbai.
Hostel Activities
Different activities, competitions and programme were conducted at the girls
hostel throughout the year concluding with Hostel Day. Among them were Ganpati
Festival, Savitri Bai Phule Jayanti, lecture by Smita Awachar, HOD of Sociology, Dr.
BAMU, Aurangabad. A one day trip to Mahismal was also organized.
National Service Scheme
During the year NSS Volunteers participated in following camps and programmes apart

In association with DLSA Free Legal Aid Clinic is established at Waladgaon. The
following days were celebrated by the NSS Unit: 8th Sept‟ 2011 Teacher‟s day and International
Literacy Day, 9th Nov‟ 2011 National legal service day, 28th Feb‟ 2012 Science day in Dr.
BAMU, Aurangabad, 1st Dec‟ 2011 World AIDS Day
On 31st Aug‟ 2011, tree plantation was organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra and in the
College premises on 19th Sept 2011. On 1st Oct‟ 2011 Blood donation & hepatit is B drive was

undertaken. Blood donors were felicitated on 22nd Jan‟ 2012 and
HIV/AIDS awareness campaign was held. Various clubs were also
established by the NSS Unit for the welfare of the society.
The NSS Unit also organized the Parivarik Mahila Lok-Adalat
on 19th Nov 2011 and participate d in the Maha-lokadalat on 18th Sept‟ 2011.
They went for an excursion to Ajanta and took part in Samata Shanti Rally and also on
making of the world record for singing National Anthem.
PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT
Shri. Brahamachari Shravanji of Chinmaya Mission delivered special
lecture on personality development for the college students.
AWARENESS PROGRAMME
For creating awareness and for sensitizing students of the
college, Prevention of Sexual Harassment and Violence at
Workplaces Cell of the college organised lectures of Dr. Swati
Shirale and Adv. Geeta Deshpande.
DISCUSSION ON ANNUAL BUDGET
Mr Yogesh Bharatiya a renowned chartered accountant delivered lecture on
“Pre –Post Budget & Indirect Taxes” in a workshop organised for Diploma in
Taxation Laws students which was followed by the discussion on the topic.
Students participated in the programme enthusiastically.
PLACEMENT
The year ended with campus interviews by Pune based LPO. MINDCREST which
conducted preliminary test shortlisting 18 students for applicant test and personal
interview and selected four students to join the institution. Similarly LIC also visited
the campus this year.
