ArtPro+ allows to create Action Lists
Operator can so automate his work within the editor itself
The task allows to run the Action Lists on the server
Reduces user time and effort
Ensures consistency
Additional value by integrating into workflows
Apply PDF Action Lists
5
ArtPro+ is used to create the Action List and to save it on the Automation Engine Server
The Apply PDF Actions Lists task will execute the actions
Resulting file will be either Adobe or Normalized PDF
Based on the input file type
Apply PDF Action Lists - Workflow
6
Make sure the ArtPro+ is connected the the Automation Engine server
Apply PDF Action Lists - Example
11
ArtPro+ allows to turn input values into parameters that become visible in the task ticket on the server. The AE user can then change those values before running the task.
Apply PDF Action Lists – Custom Parameters
12
Certain actions cannot be executed on the Normalized PDF files
E.g. Add ArtPro Marks
Make sure that the server actions do not rely on a user input
E.g. all selections should be made/changed automatically

Regular Expression Builder (RegEx builder) was introduced to
Provide assistance when building a regular expression Provide sort of debugging tool to the user
See whether the regular expression is accepted by the input field This was previously not visible at the first sight
The tool is available in RegEx enabled text fields
String Extract SmartNames, when extracting via a regular expression
Tasks that make a file selection: Select (Marked) File, Wait for Files, …
Some Workflow Controls: Data Splitter, Sort and Router
Regular Expression Builder
14
Extract parts of the input strings
Used in the String Extract SmartNames
Allows to define single pattern
…and extract part of the string
Regular Expression Builder – Two Flavours
15
Match or not match the whole input string
Used in Select File task
Allows to define multiple patterns
It’s a complete match or no match
Can be used as a white list or black list
Via checkbox ‘Exclude patterns’
Regular Expression Builder – Two Flavours
16
Extracting the user name or domain from the SmartName 'Operator’
Example input strings Chantal@AESERVER01
John@AESERVER02
Pierre.van.den.person@esko-graphics
Bjorn@home@esko-graphics
Regular Expression Builder - Examples
17
Extracting the part (any text/number) of a file name between the 2nd and 3rd underscore
Example input strings Banana_v03_271265_p003.pdf
Orange_v08_27651_p022.pdf
Apple_vX_XZY_final.pdf
Pinnaple_v8_AB C_tmp.pdf
Regular Expression Builder - Example
18
Defining a specific file selection
Example input strings Banana.pdf
BananaBU.pdf
Banana(proof).pdf
. Banana.pdf
.DS_store
Thumbs.db
thumbs.db
Regular Expression Builder - Example
19
You can simply copy paste the RegEx solutions into the regular expression field of the builder.
After pressing ‘enter’ in the regular expression field, the pattern will be automatically created in the pattern field at the top.

21
You can extract multiple parts of the string
as long as they are consecutive

Creation of shape files (ZAE) was a manual task prone to errors
Operator had to use Studio Toolkit to modify the shape file
The task allows to resize an existing shape file according to given parameters and updates dimension marks automatically
As a result the productivity is increased and errors are reduced
Resize Shape task - Description
24
Input of the task
Shape file (ZAE)
Output of the task
Shape file (ZAE)

29
Content of the panel will adjust based on selected bag type
Resize Shape task – Task Panel – Changes in user interface
30
Parameters which are not applicable for a given type of bag will be ignored
The task will not report warning or error
The output shape file (ZAE) does not include changes made by the ‘Live Shaping’
You can only create the shape files (ZAE) in the application Studio Toolkit .
The DeskPack solution can only open shape files

31
Until today the customers had to manually create several nested layouts to
Select the one which produces minimal waste
Provide a more accurate estimation of cost
This task will automatically
Create several repetition files (MFG) with different nested layouts
Create report and preview files which can be sent to customers business system
Create ArtiosCAD Layouts task
32
This task only accepts XML file as an input.
In the Input file, user can provide multiple Format Class.
Format Class = Different Sheet Sizes
Each Format Class will have its own MFG Template.
MFG Template = ArtiosCAD Manufacturing Layout file with MFG extension
Each MFG Template class will have its own Layout Parameters Value.
These values will be used to create the layouts.
Create ArtiosCAD Layouts task – Input of the Task
33
This task generates:
Single XML Report
One or more MFG Files
Preview Web Application Link
Preview Images
Naming of Output files will be unique
Preview Web Application Link will be unique for each XML Report
In Preview Link, user can select the different Results, and then Submit.
Submission will generate an another XML report with Selected Output Results and if user has set the task option ‘Launch Workflow’, then AE launches a workflow with the XML of Selected Output results only
Create ArtiosCAD Layouts task – Task Output
35
In case of ArtiosCAD Server Standard , the user can only select ARD file
Create ArtiosCAD Layouts task – ArtiosCAD Server - Standard
36
In case of ArtiosCAD Server Enterprise, the user can
Directly select ARD file
Select from existing project
Create ArtiosCAD Layouts task – ArtiosCAD Server - Enterprise
39
The user can select a certain type of nesting or just “All”
Create ArtiosCAD Layouts task – Nested Layout – Nesting Type
41
The XML file will be the Input to this task
All required fields and Layout Parameters values in the task can be mapped to their respective fields from input file by using
XML Element/Attribute Name
Xpath
SmartNames
In the Layout Parameters tab, the user can also select the option “Default Values” and enter the value and it will be same for all the Format Classes
If mandatory fields in the task are invalid then the task will end in error or warning
Create ArtiosCAD Layouts task – Workflow
42
An operator of the Business System will enter the required values for creation of the Layouts
From Business System, Layout parameters will be shared with AE via an Access Point which will initiate a workflow
When the workflows finishes, an XML report is sent to the user with a Preview URL
The user then opens the URL, selects the required Output Results and clicks ‘Submit’. The user will receive a separate report of only the selected Output Results.
