Fall is such a great season. I love the crispness in the air, college football, the baseball playoffs and that spectacular burst of color before the leaves drop. Fall also brings the introduction of amazing new Allen Edmonds styles to add to the excitement.

Under our new owners at Caleres, we’ve augmented our product development team led by Jim Kass with Caleres’ men’s shoe experts in New York and Europe. The combined team has been hard at work on an unprecedented number of new products. On a personal note, this fall also brings with it my “graduation” from Allen Edmonds. It’s been my absolute privilege and honor to serve you as President & CEO of this company since 2008. With my talented partners across the company, we successfully navigated duress during the Great Recession and built Allen Edmonds to consecutive record annual sales levels, despite the challenging era for retailers and shoe companies. Most important to me was that we were able to grow U.S. employment during that time nearly 100%. It has been a fun and fulfilling journey.

With the rest of the Allen Edmonds team remaining in place to ensure the continuation of our momentum, I’m comfortable that the time is right for me now to step aside and pass the baton to Malcolm Robinson, who is the new President of Caleres’ Men’s and International Division. Malcolm has terrific men’s fashion industry experience and is keenly focused on growing Allen Edmonds both domestically and abroad.
