Avigilon image quality claims..• Avigilon often claims to have superior image quality, but compare the

following 2 camera’s: the first is a standard Axis P3367 5MP CCTV camera and the other is an Avigilon (claimed) equivalent 5MP camera. Both have been setup with practically identical settings as seen below, both setup right out of the box, and both focused to the same focal point on the same test patterns, with the same lens. The results speak for themselves:

Both of these images are taken using the manufacturer provided standard lenses.Both are set at the same distance from the test pattern, both focused as good as possible to the pattern.

This almost looks like a 1MP camera rather than the claimed 5MP

• Ask Avigilon for an apples-to-apples side-by-side video comparison with other brands they claim to be equivalent to – they will typically decline

• Ask Avigilon to show you their Wide Dynamic Range capabilities – again they will typically decline to actually demonstrate theirs beside others

• Yes their NVMS, encoders and cameras are cheap – you get what you pay for!

• Compare for yourself and see the difference with proper CCTV brands – most (if not all) people who select to use Avigilon do so without “seeing” a true comparable product!
