The aged process of Etching is employed to create accessible and unique artwork. Each image is etched onto a copper plate and pressed onto the paper while still wet. When Adam Hargreaves asked his father “what does a tickle look like”, Roger Hargreaves created Mr Tickle. That was in 1971 and started an incredible journer of characters and stories loved around the world. To celebrate the 35th Anniversary of Mr Men and Little Miss, we created a limited edition that portrays 86 of the Hargreaves’ creations, all enjoying their birthday. The edition is limited to just 135 worldwide, and each edition is signed by Adam Hargreaves. A wonderful, bright, fun and collectable piece of Fine Art that is truly Art You Grew Up With.

Michael Bond’s first book, A Bear Called Paddington, was published in 1958 by William Collins & Sons. After the first Paddington book was accepted, Michael Bond went on to write a whole series and by 1967 his books were so successful that he was able to give up his job with the BBC in order to become a full-time author.

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Paddington Bear, we are proud to present the first ever signed limited edition fine-art collectable.

Limited to just 75 pieces world-wide, each hand-made and numbered three dimensional artwork, is signed by Paddington’s creator Michael Bond.

The edition comprises 3 individual multi-dimensional layers of Fine Art heavyweight paper. Elements of artwork created from the original negative archived at the studio are printed on each layer, using the highest quality pigment ink. Each layer is hand cut and “plussed” to suit, compiled by Studio artists, and framed using conservation materials and techniques.

We know that Mr Gruber will be very proud of this edition and already Paddington Bear collectors got their paws on it very quickly indeed.

Celebrating it’s 40th Anniversary in 2010, the adventures of Mog have thrilled and intrigued readers around the world. Using many familiar references such as her children and husband, and house, the reader has an affinity and affection for the characters few other books are able to achieve.

Originally published in 1968, this has become a classic read for millions of children, and parents. Judith Kerr wrote the story after visitng the Zoo with her then 3 year old daughter and told the story many times before writing and illustrating the book.

Celebrating Noddy’s 60th Anniversary we are proud to present a series of Limited Editions created from the original artwork by the one of the most important illustrators, Harmsen Van der Beek. Beek was a dutch artist who painted the first illustrations for Noddy goes to Toyland and all subsequent books until his death in 1953. Noddy has bridged the generations keeping him close in our memories of childhood. These limited editions are a beautiful gift for all ages.

Enid Blyton was already a prolific author by the time Noddy was introduced in 1949. Noddy has been published in many different countries and recently has been re-invented for childrens TV. Robert Tyndall’s book artwork has been beautifully reproduced with two stunning limited editions from the 1st Noddyclassic book in 46 years: “Noddy and the Farmyard Muddle”. The story has been written by Sophie Smallwood, Blyton’s granddaughter, and quickly sold out the first print run.

Robert Tyndall took over from Harmsen van der Beek, illustrating Noddy books from 1953. London-born Tyndall studied at the prestigious Harrow School of Art. From there he joined the merchant navy and returned to London in 1950. Tyndall spent some time employed in publishing, and is now a renowned painter, exhibiting his collections in several countries.

In 1999 Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh, Rick Velleu and Eric Weiner created Dora the Explorer, a young bilingual girl. Since the show aired Dora is known around the world. In each episode Dora seeks out the help of her friends Boots, Backpack, and Map to partake in her daily adventures. Along the way Dora asks for the help of the children watching along at home, as teaches them Spanish.

Ren and Stimpy are the eponymous characters of two American animated television series created by Canadian animator John Kricfalusi. Ren Höek, a neurotic “asthma-hound” chihuahua, and Stimpy, a fat red simpleton cat, wander around in nonsensical adventures reminiscent of the golden age of American animation.

Kricfalusi created the characters around 1979, while working for low-budget TV cartoons after moving to the United States. The characters were originally conceived as individual doodles unrelated to one another, and it was Kricfalusi’s co-worker Joel Fajnor who told Kricfalusi to pair them together.

Ren and Stimpy is widely considered the pioneer for many other wacky cartoon pairings such as Cow and Chicken, and a unique painted cut scene style that can be seen in Spongebob Squarepants and other cartoon greats

Your Questions AnsweredQ: What paper do we use for the editions?A: We only use archival papers carefully selected from the Paper Mill for their suitability to the subject we are representing. Most of our editions are printed on a smooth bright white 100% rag based paper specifically designed to meet the need of photographers or artists using digital photographic output. The centuries old mill produces traditional art papers, which are treated with an ink-receptive coating that provides excellent image sharpness and optimum colour graduation. The coating also offers a very high level of water resistance. They impressively combine the precision of modern photographic paper with the wonderful elegance of artist‘s paper. We have selected the papers for their large colour gamut, their high black value, the variety of surfaces and the wonderful feel of mould-made and rag papers. The result is beautiful looking artwork should last more than a lifetime.

Q: Are the Signatures hand signed or printed?A: We have been offering original and limited edition artwork to collectors and galleries for over 15 years. During that time we have been fortunate to meet and work with some of the most respected and renowned industry talent including: Creators, Brand Owners, Directors, Artists and Voice Talent. They are often only too delighted to enhance the artwork we produce with their signature, and offer their fans something very special.

Q: Is the art Official?A: All of our editions are published under license. Each image and edition is subject to a rigorous approval process. This ensures a number of things: Firstly, the image and edition is not created by many different people, and the intrinsic value for each edition is maintained. This enables us to include a Certificate of Authenticity with each piece, and give us confidence in stating the edition’s integrity. Secondly, the image and edition has the full backing and support of the Brand Owner. We’ve all seen suspect prints on canvases that feature characters that don’t quite look like the real thing! And thirdly, the quality of product is consistent with the quality and standards of the Brand you know and love. We are Ambassadors for the brands we represent, and therefore only produce Official Art for the Official Art Programmes.
