NoahNoah

• It rained for forty days and forty nights and took another forty days and forty nights for the flood to subside.

• The Ark settled on Mt. Ararat in present day Turkey.

NoahNoah• After leaving the ark

Noah built an altar, and taking of all clean animals and birds, offered holocausts upon it. God accepted the sacrifice, and made a covenant with Noah, and through him with all mankind, that He would not waste the earth or destroy man by another deluge. The rainbow would for all times be a sign and a reminder of this covenant.

NoahNoah• Noah now gave himself to

agriculture, and planted a vineyard. Being unacquainted with the effects of fermented grape-juice, he drank of it too freely and was made drunk. Ham found his father lying naked in his tent, and made a jest of his condition before his brothers; these reverently covered him with a mantle. On hearing of the occurrence Noah cursed Canaan, as Ham's heir, and blessed Shem and Japheth.

Tower of BabelTower of Babel• When Noah and his

family came out of the ark they did what God had told them. They did not all stay in one place. It was not long before they had children and grandchildren. The families grew bigger and bigger. The families grew so large they were called tribes.

Page 11: B I B S T U D Lesson 10 Noah And The Deluge

Tower of BabelTower of Babel• Even though all the tribes

spoke one language and were really all the same family, they did not all think the same way. Some of the people were beginning to do wrong. They settled on a plain in the land of Shinar, about where Iran is today.

Page 12: B I B S T U D Lesson 10 Noah And The Deluge

Tower of BabelTower of Babel• They had an idea all their

own. Since they knew how to make and bake bricks, they decided to build a great tower to reach right into heaven. They decided to build a great city around the tower. Then, they felt, they would be the greatest and the most wonderful of all people.

Page 13: B I B S T U D Lesson 10 Noah And The Deluge

Tower of BabelTower of Babel• They baked their bricks and

started building the city. The tower rose higher and higher. But something stopped them. God was watching them. God knew if they stayed together again like they had done before the flood, those with bad ways would soon rule over them, especially because they all spoke one language.

Page 14: B I B S T U D Lesson 10 Noah And The Deluge

Tower of BabelTower of Babel• God changed their

language. What trouble that brought! The brick makers could not understand the builders. The builders could not understand the brick makers. In a very short time the whole building work stopped..

Page 15: B I B S T U D Lesson 10 Noah And The Deluge

Tower of BabelTower of Babel• Those who spoke the

same languages moved off together, each group in a different direction

• The great tower came to nothing. The place where they had tried to build it was given the name of "Babel", which means confusion.
