to the Grade of the Triune Scale, a probationary grade, within the Kabbalistic Order of the White Rose.
Honored Shomer hCherev leave the hall and oversee the preperation of the Candidate for initiation.
Once prepared, conduct the Candidate to the portal in the traditional manner.

my magical oath.

(Moreh assists the Candidate to rise and leads him to the station of the Taher. All present vibrate while
Moreh and Candidate circumambulate. As they pass the station of the Taher the first time, Taher knocks once.
The Moreh raises the hoodwink saying:)

Karoz: Brother, many are the mysteries of this grade. First, there are four main officers in this grade. The
Tahar is in charge of all purifications and consecrations within the hall. His symbols are those of fire,
water and air, and thus does he symbolically represent the Grade of the Triune Scale.
t was the Moreh who led you through the hall when you were in darkness, the sacred Light
uiding your way. It is his duty to guide all those who walk in Gloom seeking the Light. His symbol
is the sacred Li ht and it was from Li ht that all thin s were brou ht into bein .I am the Karoz the

herald of the Divine. My station is at the point of the Triangle formed the Taher, it is here that I balance
the energies of Mercy and Severity. It is my duty make all anouncements and proclamations within
the hall, at the command of thehonored Sgan. I cary the scepter of the Triangle of Light which
represents the manifestation of the voice of the Divine on Earth.
The Sgan is the master of the hall and stands at its focus. e is the initiator into the mysteries and it
is through his power and authority that I am able to reveal these mysteries to you. The Sgan wares the
White Rose, symbolic of the Order and carries the Staff of Neshutan.
There are two lesser officers as well, the Shomer hCherev and Zakeef hCherev. The Shomer hCherevmoves between this sacred hall and the outer world of the profane and it is his duty to oversee the per
peration of the Candidate and to conduct the Candidate into the hall. The Zakeef hCherev stays with
out the hall and prepares the Candidate for initiation and protects the hall from Darkness. Both bare the
symbol of the flaming sword of the Kerubim.
The sign of this grade is known as Ot hMoznaim or the Sign of the Scales. It was in this position that
the Zakeef hCherev places you when you were blindfolded and bound before entering the Temple. It
signifies your willingness to be judged according to your own merits. Raise your arms in a cross-like
shape, with your palms up as though balancing weights upon them. Your head is facing straight
forward.
The grip or token of the grade is thus: place both of your arms out, palms down. This is symbolic of
your stage as the Yaldey Emesh, the Child of Yesternight and Gloom. I now place my arms below
your and we grasp forearms, this affirms the Light penetrating the darkness.
The Word of this grade is Emesh, which is spelled alef, mem, shin. It is spoken in this position in an
exchange of letters thus. Alef . . .

Karoz: Shin.
The knock of the Grade is three strikes, thus These three knocks represent the three letters of the
Word of the Grade, Emesh.
Finally, the watchword for this season is ____________. It is changed every year at the Winter
Solstice, when the sun is reborn, so that a member who has resigned, demitted or been expelled
may be ignorant of it.
Sgan: Honored Karoz, I command that the rope, last remaining symbol of darkness be removed.

Karoz: I hereby remove the rope of restriction and servitude.
Sgan: Honored Karoz, you have my leave to declare that our Brother ________ has been initiated into the
Mysteries of the Grade of the Triune Scale.
