TRANSCRIPT
The Kentucky Wesleyan teacher education program provides experiences designed to develop teacher-leaders
capable of facing a diverse, ever-changing world. Wesleyan provides a bachelor
of science degree in middle grades education with 5-9 certification.
Students must complete college general education requirements, be admitted to
the teacher education program, complete professional knowledge coursework
and have two areas of emphasis:
The Teacher Education program sponsors the Kentucky Education Association Aspiring Educators (KEA-
AE) with Dr. Michael Nelson as faculty advisor.
KEA-AE provides opportunities for candidates to demonstrate leadership and service to the community
and profession. Professional development conferences and workshops are offered through the state and
local chapters during each semester.
Kentucky Wesleyan College will annually award scholarships to aspiring teachers who meet and agree to the
following criteria:
• Earn a minimum 3.0 high school GPA.
• Achieve an ACT score of 19 or higher.
• Complete an essay.• Maintain a minimum of 12 hours full-time status each semester (does
not include summer courses).
• Maintain standards of the teacher education program.
