However it was decided that the one that would be the most long lasting was a plaque on the Memorial Wall at the Bendoc Resource Centre. It was then agreed that this plaque would be accompanied by a stone horse, very fitting for the lady Patsie Manning had been. It is hoped that this memory will now be around for many years to come. The plaque and statue can be viewed 24 hours a day on the wall for those who are interested. Many would remember Thelma Radocaj who lived in Bendoc when she was married to the late Roy Jamieson, Raymond Jamieson’s father. Thelma was Raymond’s stepsister Gail’s (Gail Nash) mum. Thelma passed away in Melbourne and will be buried on Friday the 10th of October. Our sympathy goes out to Thelma’s husband Esteve Radocaj family and friends at this time.

It was really great to hear that everyone who ventured away on the Bendoc Bus to Canberra

last month to Floriade had such a lovely day. With passengers from Bendoc, Delegate,

Delegate River and Bombala it was a really lovely mix of people and personalities by all

reports and everyone enjoyed catching up with people they don’t see often. Once again a big

thank you goes to Russell Buckman who as always was accommodating to all requests and made

the day very easy for everyone. The weather did not look promising for the beginning of the

day however was fine and only started to change when it was time to leave. There was a little

visit to the Christmas Barn in Bredbo on the way home so all in all a very full day. Hope to see

everyone again next year.

The success of this trip is a reminder to everyone that the Bendoc Bus is available for hire.

others may be interested, please don’t hesitate to phone the Bendoc Resource Centre and

It was after discussion and much reminiscing during a recent visit back to the area by George Miles, that George

promised to send a photo which he thought might by of interest to readers. This photo will I am sure spark some

memories of times gone by. Some members have passed from the Team, however this is a wonderful snap shot

of the Members of the Bendoc Team with their shield from the 1954-1955 Season. A big thank you to George

for getting this photo to the Wheel to share the memory, we look forward to another visit.

After the very sad passing of Patsie Manning there

was much discussion amongst the Members of the Bendoc Progress Association in regard to what would

be the most appropriate way to remember Patsie and the contribution she made to the Community of Bendoc during her time in the area. Many ideas were

shared with suggestions including everything from a garden to planting trees. However it was decided that the one that would be the most

long lasting was a plaque on the Memorial Wall at the Bendoc Resource Centre. It was then agreed

that this plaque would be accompanied by a stone horse, very fitting for the lady Patsie Manning had been. It is hoped that this memory will now be around for many years to come. The plaque and statue

can be viewed 24 hours a day on the wall for those who are interested.

Many would remember Thelma Radocaj who lived in Bendoc when she was married to the late Roy Jamieson, Raymond Jamieson’s father. Thelma was Raymond’s stepsister Gail’s (Gail Nash) mum. It was out with the plane for Mundy and in with the Party for Janine Jamieson last Saturday when friends and family gath-ered to Celebrate sweet 16 with Janine. Mundy’s hanger which is just out of Bendoc was the perfect venue to party till the wee hours of the morning with lights, music and a well fuelled generator that was not turned off till 5.30am the next morning. As expected these days Cleo Jamieson baked and decorated a delicious cake featuring an L plate which of course is the next thing on Janine’s bucket list to undertake. Shared amongst over forty family and friends were loads of Tastes of Asia nibbles that have come to be mum, Cleo’s, signature bites. Janine is pictured cutting the cake with a smile that tells all. We wish Janine a very happy coming year and will be looking out for her as she takes on the road.

There seems that a few birthday’s were missed in last months issue and we hate the thought of someone not getting to feel a little older so some September Birthdays will be included this month as well. Our apologies to Len Game and Nathan Bayliss-Brandenburg, as well as father son team Wayne and Callan Jamieson who all celebrated last month . Callan had a special 8th Birthday Party at his house with many school friends. Not to be outdone Callan’s sister Lydia Jamieson is having a treat of her own with a party also this month to celebrate her 6th Birthday, just another very special day in Bendoc. Happy Birthday to all those in the area who have had a birthday during September or having one during October.

Step 1

Preheat barbecue plate on medium heat. Sift flour and baking powder into a large bowl. Make a well in the centre. Add egg and milk.

Whisk until batter is smooth.

There were no two ways about it. Rosie was fat. Very fat. “Belinda”, said Rosie to her best friend, “it was terrible what happened

yesterday after the birthday party. You know how half of the birthday cake was left over? Well, I knew hubby would be fuming at

me for eating it, with my diet and all, but I couldn’t help myself, it started with just a small nibble and before I knew it the whole

cake was gone!.”

“Oh my!” clucked Belinda, “was hubby really upset?”“He never found it”, responded Rosie with a full double chin smile, “I just

baked another cake and ate half of it!”

A man and his wife were going for a stroll one night when they spotted what was obviously a blind man taking a walk on the other side

of the street with his seeing eye dog.“Wow! Isn’t that something!” remarked the wife, “look at that man taking a stroll just like us.”

They continued strolling for a few minutes longer when they heard the man let out a loud yelp. The dog had walked him right into a

parked car and he had clearly banged his shin pretty hard. Rushing over to help, they were surprised to see the man reach into his pocket

and pull out a treat for the dog.“Isn’t that weird?” whispered the wife, “giving him a treat even when he’s mad.”“Why are you giving

him a treat?” questioned the husband.

“I AINT GIVING HIM A TREAT!” said the enraged man, “I’M JUST TRYING TO FIND OUT WHERE HIS HEAD IS, SO I CAN

GIVE HIM A SHARP KICK IN THE BEHIND.
