CJ ON CRUELLEST CUT FOR TERRITORIANS Our young footy players just need to become more professional in the future. Doubt that the Thunder pro- gram will lead to many draf- tees in the future. Better that those with great potential go down south for the last 3 or 4 years of school and get into a footy program where they can learn how to prepare themselves and look after their bodies. There’s so few elite juniors whereas down south there’s heaps and the NT lads would have to work so much harder to get a game. Tracey of Darwin I think we will get used to less Territorians being draft- ed and more being shown the door. Sadly the end of a re- cruiting era that created a few good highlight reels but no career players. It is a shame as there is nothing more exciting than Territory Footy. Put the talent section of AFL NT and NTIS under the microscope please. Throw in a cat :) Mr Plod of Marlow Lagoon I wish the Council in Palm- erston would clean up the la- kes and get rid of the Weed that grows in the lakes around Durack. Although the pink flowers look pretty, most of the time the lakes look like a swamp. I wouldn’t like to own a house close to the lakes, the property would be devalued. There was a crocodile sighting awhile ago — unable to see a croc even if there was one in there because of all the Weed. Disgusting Lakes of Palmerston Typical bogan response from the guy in the water with his dog. What is it with people these days? This is a retrograde step because as the population grows, there is a greater need for healthy, active sports such as badminton. There is a very active group of mature age players who have recently competed success- fully interstate. Badminton is particularly good in maintaining health as we age, being beneficial for balance, concentration, cardio health and for our social wellbeing. It will be a devastating loss to our community if a sport is allowed to die. Not all funding should go to the big sports. Smaller sports should be get a fair go.
