Dear Bailey Lake Families,
Happy New Year! On behal o the Na-
tional PTA and our BLE PTA Board,I would like to thank all the parents,teachers, and sta who made 2012 atruly remarkable year o learning,enrichment, and un or our children.I hope that 2013 will become anotherwonderul year to remember!
As always, December was a busymonth or all. Scholastic Book Fairorganized by Shelly Ferguson andKristin Liles turned in $12,251 in totalsales, exceeding last years numbers;this qualifed our school or a bonus!Our total profts are $7,700 inScholastic dollars to purchase booksor the media center. This is incredible!Big thank you to them, all thevolunteers who managed to fnd timein their busy schedules, and every am-ily that supported the Fair. Donuts withDad was a big hit as well, thanks to our
parents, Tracy Marshall, Andrea Beau-champ, and Jenna Anderson. The $1suggested donation brought in $365to beneft our school. O course, therewouldnt be any estive holiday partiesthe students enjoyed i it werent orour homeroom parents!You are really amazing!
January was o to a good start. Withthe Reections contest results an-nounced on Friday beore the break,all participating students returned to

PTA Board and PTA Committee Chairs
What is the BLE PTA Board?The Board consists o 12 PTA members holding various positions with defned
responsibilities. They are: President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President,
Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Volunteer Coordinator, Assistant
Volunteer Coordinator, Membership Coordinator, Assistant Membership
Coordinator, Facebook/Newsletter Coordinator, and Web Site Coordinator.
The Board is elected or a term o one year usually at the May PTA Meeting.
Who can be elected or the BLE PTA Board?PTA Board positions are open to any Bailey Lake Elementary PTA member and
do not require previous board or PTA experience. I you are interested in a PTA
board position or the ollowing school year, you should contact the Volunteer
Coordinator , Kim Hardtke at: [email protected]. The Volunteer
Coordinator seeks out nominees or each board position and presents
candidates to the membership at the May PTA meeting.
Do I need to be a Board Member to chair an event?No. While many BLE PTA Board members also chair events, it is not required.
How do PTA Committee Chair positions get flled?The PTA President and Volunteer Coordinator begin seeking individuals to fll
committee chair roles as early as February. I you are interested in a PTA
committee chair position or the ollowing school year, you should look or
announcements in Bulldogs Newsletter or talk to the President or Volunteer
Coordinator. In addition, posters will be hung in the Bulldog hallway,
where you can add your name to desired chair/board positions.
