Market At A Glance[May Stats in California]

Residential Sales The real estate market was out of control this quarter (in a good way)! Although home sales were down, the median price of homes sold soared to $600,860 in California… this is a 9.2% YTY increase and a 15% increase compared to last quarter. The median days on market was only 15 days, which is incredible! The average price per square foot increased to $286, which is a 6.7% YTY increase and a 7.9% increase compared to last quarter. The median price, price per square foot, and interest rates are the highest they’ve been since I started collecting data in 2016. The median days on market is the lowest it has been since I started collecting data. This is great news all around!

Meet the OwnerTara Anderson, CEO and Owner/Broker

Tara Anderson was born and raised in Chico, California. She graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in Business Economics with Cum Laude Honors and Phi Beta Kappa Honors. Tara has extensive real estate investment knowledge and experience. Previously, she worked at various commercial real estate investment firms in Orange County selling non-traded REITs, TICs, and Private Placements in just about every real estate asset class. She became a Real Estate Broker in 2010 and shortly thereafter, she moved back to Chico and formed Ballou Company.

In addition to her real estate career, Tara has competed at the top levels of the equestrian sport, is very involved within the horse community, and her family owns Camelot Equestrian Park in Butte Valley, California. Tara is Secretary/Treasurer of Camelot Equestrian Park Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Tara lives in Chico with her wonderful husband, Andy. She has two horses and rides competitively throughout California.

Meet Our Newest Agent — Amy NelmsAmy Nelms, Real Estate Agent

Amy Nelms is the sixth generation of her family in Butte Valley. She graduated California State University Chico with a B.A. in Public Relations in Journalism and minors in English and Agriculture with Magna Cum Laude honors. She returned to Chico State and graduated with her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential in 2013. She has been teaching elementary school in Oroville since 2014.Amy has four horses and has a lifelong dedication to improving her horsemanship skills. She enjoys riding on her family’s ranch and attends Buck Brannaman clinics every year in California, Oregon, and Nevada. She has a passion for furthering her education in horsemanship, teaching, and real estate.
