On behalf of Barker Cattle Co. we welcome you to our 2011 Show Calf Sale. The rules and regulations governing the sale are listed in our catalog and on the Barker Cattle Company web site, barkercattle.com. Although the basic format for the sale is the same as previous years, there will be some changes in the bidding process. The complete details are explained more clearly on our website. We are excited to offer this new approach, which seems to simplify the whole process for everyone involved and has been very well accepted by both consumers and producers. We welcome any questions and would love to discuss points of interest you may have, regarding the sale and the calves being offered. Although September 24, is listed as the day designated for preview of the calves, we are more than happy to accommodate your needs and schedules. Remember you do not have to be present to bid. We have a great offering of calves this year and believe there are three main components necessary for success in the Junior Livestock Program: (1) Genetics: We have used a wide variety of the best AI bulls in the show calf industry and have cleaned up with outstanding herd sires from various breeds. Our cow herd represents many years of AI breeding and selection. (2) Feeding Program: Feeding is such an integral part of developing highly competitive calves, which is why we are willing to share and discuss any expertise we may have in this most important area. We strongly encourage that all buyers consult with livestock nutritionists and qualified personnel in establishing efficient and productive rations for your livestock. If you fall short in your feeding program, the best genetics in the world will not take you to the winner’s circle. (3) Showmanship: This vital part of the overall experience must start the day you get your calf home and must continue regularly and consistently until you walk into the show ring. We counsel you not to be rough or loud with your calf, but rather be quiet, calm, kind and patient. In closing, we appreciate your business and friendship. The Elba Valley is a wonderful place to spend a beautiful fall September day. We hope you will join with us and look forward to visiting with you.

TERMS:Terms of this sale are cash, or a good check, unless arrangements are made prior to the sale. Settlement to be made immediately at the conclusion of the sale, before animals are loaded. The right of property title shall not pass until checks have cleared.
BIDDING: All animals will sell as single lots to the highest bidder. Any disputes or challenges regarding bids will be settled by Barker Cattle Company, whose decision will be final.
RISK: All animals are at the owner’s risk prior to their sale and become the property of the buyer as soon as the animal is declared sold, at which time the buyer assumes all risks.
HEALTH: Every calf in this sale is free of any disease and is sold as sound. All calves have been vaccinated with One Shot Ultra 8, Bovi-shield Gold, and Enforce. Also have been wormed with Dectomax.
TRUCKING: All trucking is the responsibility of the buyer, but we will make every effort to help minimize costs to the buyer.
CONTRACT: The above Terms and Conditions of this sale shall constitute a contract between buyer and seller and be equally binding on both parties. Animals that are resold following the sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by these Terms and Conditions.
LIABILITIES: Although accidents at livestock sales seldom occur, everyone attending this sale does so at their own risk. The owners and employees of Barker Cattle Company assume no liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of an accident, bodily injury, theft, act of God, errors in catalogs or omissions.

Preview Day: September 24, 2011We will be holding a preview of the calves located at the ranch in Elba, Idaho. A meal will be provided for you when you arrive. Viewing can be done anytime between 8 am and dusk. There will be no viewing of the calves on Sunday, September 25, so please plan accordingly. We will make every effort to accommodate another time for you to visit if you are unable to make this Preview Date. Please call and make an appointment.
Sale Details & Information:
All Calves will be viewed in the pasture on their mothers under natural conditions. Information, photos, and video clips will also be posted on www.barkercattle.com. If you are unable to attend the viewing on September 24, but would like to see the calves, we’d be happy to make an appointment for another convenient time prior to the sale.
We are following the trend and offering a new sale system this year to speed up the bidding process and hopefully be better for all involved. This year’s auction will be held ONLINE. Anyone wanting to bid on calves must register online by Monday, September 26, 2011 before 5:00 pm (MST). You will not have to wait for us to call you with the next bid. Bidding will open on Saturday, September 24, 2011 @ 8:00 am (MST) and will remain open until 7:00 pm (MST) on Monday, September 26, 2011 @ 7:00 pm (MST). You will be able to bid any time between those two times. At 6:50 pm (MST) on September 26, the bidding will begin to close down. If there is a bid placed in that 10 minute period, every calf in the sale will extend another 10 minutes. This will repeat until there are no bids on any calf for a 10 minute period. At that point the sale will be closed. You can find more detailed instructions on our website, www.barkercattle.com
You will be able to monitor the internet and emails for bidding notifications and will want to be near the internet on the evening of the 26th as bids begin to close. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us so that we can help you work through the process.

From I-84 East (Twin Falls, ID): Take exit 216 for ID-25 towards Declo/Albion Pomer-elle. Turn right at ID-77 and drive through Declo heading south. Come up through Albion valley towards Pomerelle ski resort staying on ID-77 to Connor Creek Junc-tion. Turn right at Elba-Almo Road heading south west 4.4 miles turn right at the rock LDS church 2000 South, heading West. Watch for Barker Cattle Co. Signs.
From I-86W (Pocatello, ID): Turn left to merge onto I-86 W toward American Falls/Twin Falls. Take exit 216 for ID-25 towards Declo/Albion Pomerelle. Follow above directions from there.
From I-15 N (Salt Lake City, UT): Stay on this through Ogden and continue straight until I-84 W (signs for Boise) exchange in Tremonton, UT. Continue on I-84, tak-ing Sublette/Malta Exit. Turn left and come into Malta. Take a left at Cattle Country Steakhouse, go 1/4 mile south, turn right onto ID-77 heading west through Connor Creek Junction, approx. 15 miles. At Rock LDS church, 2000 S in Elba, turn right heading west and watch for Barker Cattle Co. signs.
