Christmas Wreaths: We have begun selling

Christmas Wreaths to hang on the fences around

the entire church block. Wreaths will be $40. You

can have your family’s names put on the wreath,

or in memory of a loved one. You can either mail

in a check or come to the Rectory Office. Please include the

name you’d like on the wreath.

Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Sunday,

December 9, 1:30 PM Spanish Mass in lower

church, followed by the procession through our

neighborhood, ending with a reception in Notre

Dame Hall. Tuesday, Dec. 11, the upper church will

be open from 9 PM Mass at 10 PM, followed by serenade in

honor of O.L. of Guadalupe and the story of the apparitions

in Guadalupe. Mañanitas by Mariachi from 4:30 till 6 AM

The solemn Mass will be at 7 PM in the upper church. All

are invited to participate.

Soto will begin working as Director of the Parish Office.

Irma, a life-long parishioner, is a member of the Pastoral

Council, a Parish Trustee, and Extraordinary Minister of

parish Christmas display on 60th

CHRISTMAS FLOWERS:

We are approaching the beautiful season of

Advent. We will start taking names and donations

for our Altar Flowers and Wreaths on Sunday,

December 2, in memory of loved ones. All names

submitted before the cut-off date, Monday,

December 17, after the 12:10 Mass, will appear in our

“Christmas Flowers Booklet.” Those names submitted after

the 17th will appear in the Bulletin. You may make a

donation by coming to the Rectory Office and submitting the

names of those you wish to have remembered in this way.

Once again this year we are collecting new

toys, new clothing and new baby items for

the children of the needy families in our

community. Take a tag from our Giving Tree, purchase the

suggested gift on the back of the tag, bring the gift

UNWRAPPED to the church and place it under the tree.

Sister Lucille and her volunteers will distribute the donated

gifts to the needy children of our parish and Sunset Park.

Flores y Coronas Navideñas – Adornos de nuestra Iglesia. A partir

del domingo, 2 de diciembre, se recibirán los nombres de las familias

y los seres queridos en cuya memoria desean hacer una donación para las flores y coronas navideñas que adornarán nuestra iglesia para la

Navidad. Todos los nombres anotados hasta el lunes, 17 de diciembre,

se imprimirán en el “Librito de Flores de Navidad.” Los que se anotan

después de esa fecha se publicarán en el boletín parroquial. Pueden

hacer su donación con los nombres en la oficina de la rectoría.

Arbolito Navideño que Da. Como de costumbre estamos

recogiendo juguetes nuevos, ropa nueva y nuevos artículos de bebé

para los hijos de las familias necesitadas de nuestra comunidad.

Tome una etiqueta de nuestro Arbolito Navideño que Da, compre

el regalo sugerido en la parte posterior de la etiqueta, lleve el

regalo SIN SER ENVUELTO a la iglesia y colóquelo bajo el árbol.

La Hermana Lucille y sus voluntarios distribuirán los regalos

donados a los niños necesitados de nuestra parroquia y Sunset

Pesebre y Luces Navideños de NSPS. El viernes, 7 de diciembre, en la

víspera de la Inmaculada Concepción, prenderemos las luces navideñas

y del pesebre de la parroquia sobre la Calle 60 a las 7 p.m., entre las 2

Misas (6:15 p.m. Misa en inglés, 7:30 p.m. Misa en español). Después

de la ceremonia habrá chocolate y galletitas para compartir.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy is excited to be

planning our first "Rock'n with Santa". Santa will be arriving to Notre

Dame Hall on December 7. Great fun activities that are on Santa's

list are a stroll through a Winter Wonderland, pictures with Santa, games and crafts and the well loved Ugly Christmas Sweater

Contest. Don't be a Grinch, come out and have some fun with family

and friends Friday, December 7th. Doors will open at 6:30 PM

Tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets are on sale in the

school office and in the rectory.

Classes have been enjoying a few trips. In October the Second and

the Fourth Graders enjoyed a day at Green Meadow Farms located

at Floyd Bennett Field. Students were able to ride a good old

fashioned hayride, pony ride and see animals up close. The

Kindergarten, First and Third Graders enjoyed a performance of The

Wizard of Oz at Kingsborough Community College.

The First Trimester is coming to and end and classes are striving

to meet their academic challenges. Report Cards will be distributed

on December 6th by appointment. Students will be continuing to do their best as we begin the Second Trimester.

Last weekend there were 3,114 people who came to OLPH for the

celebration of the Eucharist. The total collection was $12,314.11. Thank

you for your generosity in supporting our parish community. In the

name of the God who will not be undone in generosity, thank you!

The St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry for the month of December

will be open on Saturdays, December 1st and 8th, from 10:30 AM -

12 PM. Any questions concerning eligibility for the pantry should be

El Consejo Hispano se reunirá el lunes, 3 de diciembre, a las

7 p.m. en la rectoría.

El Comité “Ayuda a la Comunidad” invita a un taller sobre “La

Familia Inmigrante en Tiempo de Incertidumbre - ¿Qué hay que

hacer?”, este domingo, desde las 11:30 a.m. hasta la 1:30 p.m. en el

Centro Parroquial (5901 de la 6ª Avenida).

CELEBRACIÓN EN HONOR A NUESTRA SEÑORA DE

GUADALUPE: El Comité Guadalupano invita a todos a la

celebración de la fiesta de N.S. de Guadalupe, comenzando el domingo, 9 de diciembre, con la Celebración Eucarística a las

1:30 pm, seguido por la procesión por las calles y terminando con

la recepción en el Salón Notre Dame. El martes, 11 de diciembre,

la iglesia de arriba estará abierta todo la noche a partir de las

9:00 p.m. Se dará inicio a nuestro programa con la Santa Misa a las

10:00 pm, seguida por la serenata a la Virgen con música de banda.

En seguida el grupo de RICA presentará la obra de teatro de las

apariciones de nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. El miércoles, 12 de

diciembre, se cantarán las mañanitas con mariachi a las 4:30 a.m.

hasta las 6:00 a.m. La antorcha Guadalupana saldrá a partir de la 7:30 a.m. Durante el día la iglesia de abajo estará abierta para los

que desean ofrecer su homenaje a N.S. de Guadalupe. La Misa

solemne de la Fiesta se celebrará a las 7:00 p.m. en la iglesia de

arriba. ¡Están todos cordialmente invitados!

CURSO BÍBLICO: Luz en mi camino - Cada viernes, 7 – 8:30 PM, en la capilla de la iglesia de arriba. Se entra por la rectoría, 526 de la calle 59. Favor de traer su Biblia. Todos están invitados.

CURSO DE DOCTRINA SOCIAL DE LA IGLESIA: Cada lunes de 7 – 8:30 PM, en la capilla de la iglesia de arriba. Se entra por la rectoría, 526 de la calle 59.

Curso de Ciudadanía: Se realizan cada sábado en el Centro Juan Neumann, 545 calle 60, de 10 AM - 12 PM, además de las clases los martes y jueves a las mismas horas. No hay costo; solo una donación.

El Coro de Ninos, invita a todos los interesados al ensayo los viernes

La Academia Católica de Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro

está emocionada en la planificacion de nuestro primer "Rock'n

con Santa". Santa llegará en el Salon de Notre Dame el 7 de

Diciembre. Las actividades más divertidas que se encuentran en la

lista de Santa Claus son un paseo por Winter Wonderland, fotos

con Papá Noel, juegos y manualidades y el muy querido Concurso

Ugly Christmas Sweater. No seas un Grinch, ven y diviértete con

tu familia y amigos el viernes 7 de Diciembre. Las puertas se

abrirán a las 6:30 PM Los boletos deben comprarse con

anticipación. Los boletos están a la venta en la oficina de la

escuela y rectoría.

Las clases han estado disfrutando de algunos viajes. En Octubre,

los alumnos de segundo y cuarto grado disfrutaron de un día en

Green Meadow Farms ubicado en Floyd Bennett Field. Los

estudiantes pudieron montar en un buen andar a la antigua,

pasear en pony y ver animales de cerca. Los estudiantes de

Kindergarten, primer y tercer grado disfrutaron de una actuación

de El Mago de Oz en el Kingsborough Community College.

El Primer Trimestre está llegando a su fin y las clases se

esfuerzan por cumplir sus desafíos académicos. Las boletas de

calificaciones se distribuirán el 6 de Diciembre con cita previa. Los

estudiantes continuarán haciendo lo mejor que podamos al

comenzar el Segundo Trimestre.
