Smart specialization in energy, advanced manufacturing and the biosciences have become the Basque Country’s main bid for the forthcoming decades.

Aeronautics Advanced Manufacturing Centre

The Aeronautics Advanced Manufacturing Centre seeks to optimize the potential of Basque industry to offer

industrial products and services with high added value.

CONSORTIUM ESS – BILBAO: THE EUROPEAN SPALLATION NEUTRON SOURCE

The Consortium ESS Bilbao will be aimed to supply systems or subsystems designed, built and tested to deliver turnkey to the

project of the European Spallation Source to be constructed in Lund (Sweden).

BIOBASQUEBioBasque is home to more than 70 companies, the core being so-called biocompanies. These firms offer direct employment to around 1.780 people and represent a total turnover of over 305million €.

ALAVA: a top level logistics node in south-western Europe

Around Vitoria there are 7 million square meters dedicated to logistics activities, with connections to the rest of the world byland, sea and air through the ports of Bilbao and Pasajes, Foronda airport and several high-speed connections by road.

VIAP Vitoria Industrial Air Park: Following the agreement signed between the Basque Government, Vitoria City Hall and AENA, an industrial park with the characteristics of a technology park linked to the aeronautic sector will be built.

VIT Vitoria Intermodal Terminal: This Intermodal station will channel all the traffic between continental Europe and the Iberianpeninsula through the western Pyrenees.
